Fourteen minutes late. Fourteen. One minute more and Kay would have had been considered absent—which would have had been his first ever absence in the span of two weeks. When he arrived, he slipped into the vacant seat that Gina had saved for him beside her. This earned him a curious look from her, which he couldn’t really answer due to the fact that he had a lot of notes to catch up on taking.
