When Michael said “soon,” Kay was unsure of what exactly that meant; but apparently, “soon" for Michael was not a few hours, and not even one day. A couple of days had already passed and the angel was nowhere to be found. What was more disconcerting was the fact that the others who used to linger around them had stopped showing up as well.
This could only mean one of two things—either Michael was able to lure them off somewhere, or they were able to lure Michael back. The first one, of course, was what Kay wanted to believe, but as more time passed, the more that fear started to creep in. Michael had never stayed away for this long ever since he appeared in Kay's life. He had always been by his side, but this time, he hadn’t even showed his face once.
