Her

*Ryan POV* Two women entered the stage and introduced themselves, thanking so many people for arriving. I sighed and leaned back in my chair, wondering how long it was going to take. I looked at the two girls, they were pretty, sure, and Kurt wasn't lying, they had rather scandalous outfits. I smirked and looked at them closely again. Maybe it's not going to be so bad at all. They started to sing a piece that I didn't know and I felt something uneasy in my mind. My wolf started to pace around in my mind, restless. I sat up straight and took a look around me, trying to localize any threat that was making me so uncomfortable. Liam leaned in to me and whispered. “Are you okay?” He asked, but I shook my head. “I don't know, I feel…weird.” I muttered, not paying attention to the stage. I didn't even notice that three more girls joined the previous ones on the stage, but as soon as one of them started to sing, my world stopped. I abruptly turned my head toward the source of the most angelic, silver, pure voice I've ever heard in my life, and my eyes fell on her. My mouth probably opened without my help as I was mesmerized by the most beautiful woman I've ever laid my eyes on. “Told you. This is Eve. Amazing voice isn't it?” Kurt whispered to me and I couldn't respond in any way. I just took a deep breath and the scent hit both my nose and heart. A low growl built in my throat, threatening to escape. I felt my friends' eyes on me, but I couldn't focus on anything. I just smelled the wonderful, comforting, fresh, cherry scent of my mate. And while there are many people around and it's hard to tell which one of them is my mate, I knew exactly. Eve. Kurt’s and Trish’s secret friend is my mate. I just need the last confirmation, her eyes. One eye contact and I'm going to know for sure. I observed her as a predator watches his prey, begging her silently to look me in the eye. She came up to the front of the stage, looking at the crowd with a small smile as she kept singing, pouring her entire soul into it. Waiting for our eyes to meet, I took a good look at her, starting from her long, lean legs covered only by fishnets up to her bubble but and wide hips. The growl escaped as my wolf’s primal need to mate filled my mind. Prolonging this torture, I kept leading my eyes all over her body. A thin waist, so small I could try to hug it with my hands, small and perky breasts, filling nicely the corset she was wearing. Goddess, she is perfect. Just the way I like, fitting my every taste and need. My eyes wandered to her cleavage and fair, long neck. Twisting and turning in my seat, I looked at her face. Small but full lips, so inviting to kiss them, adorable little nose and big, round eyes. She still didn't look at me and I couldn't tell the color. Her light, gold hair was swaying freely as she was moving around, making her look ethereal, like a nymph or a siren from myths. I felt Kurt nudging me, trying to grab my attention, and I snapped my head at him with a warning growl. ““What?”” I asked through our mind link, my vice laced with venom as he made me look away from my mate. Supposed mate. ““What is wrong with you? You keep staring at Eve and growling, you'll scare her.”” He said sternly back into my mind, his eyes squinted. I took a quick glance at Eve as she stepped a little further down the stage. Should I tell them? That she is possibly my mate? Do I even want her to be my mate? She sang a high, long note making my legs shake. Fuck yes. I want her. I want her to be my mate, to sing only for me, to scream my name with those pouty, kissable lips. I felt excitement building in my pants as my wolf sent me more fantasies, mostly about going up this stage, throwing her over my shoulder and running into the woods, to mate in nature. ““Ryan?”” Kurt nudged me again, dispersing the beautiful image. ““I think… I know she is my mate.”” I answered, my eyes darted back to her, watching her carefully, hoping for a short glimpse of her eyes. Kurt gasped and after a second Liam snapped his head at me, his eyes wide. Trish certainly also heard that because she squealed loud enough to muffle the music. ““Seriously? Eve? Are you sure?”” She asked through the link, as excited as a toddler in a candy shop. ““I feel it, I can smell my mate’s scent but there are too many other scents to tell for sure. I need to see her eyes, but I feel it's her.”” I took a quick look at the excited she-wolf and quickly went back to Eve. At this exact moment, her eyes fell on mine and the whole air was taken away from my lungs. The word “mate” uncontrollably left my lips, making my friends almost howl in joy. She kept looking at me, her mouth opened a little as if she felt the bond as strongly as I did. My eyes didn't leave hers until her line came up again and she shook off and started to sing again. Not before flashing me her beautiful smile. While there were many people in the audience, I somehow knew that this smile was for me. I leaned back in my seat, the weird feeling of calmness filling my body. This is not the best time to find a mate. Not only that, she is a human, which means winning her heart would definitely be more difficult than if she was a werewolf. But… Somehow, I don't care. Everything that was in my mind previously went right out. And the sheer thought of rejecting her made me shake in fear. How could I be so blind? How could I not want a mate? Just a look, a few notes of her voice and this cherry scent, and I'm certain. I want my mate, right now. The show continued and so did the pure torture. I could see her, smell her, but couldn't touch her. And boy, my hands itch to touch her skin. To feel the sparks that every mated couple talks about. Is it really that pleasurable? I purred quietly, imagining this. My friends, or should I say, those assholes, tried to muffle their laughter. They knew very well what was inside my mind. Any time another girl sang, I felt irritated. I want to hear my mate. The show finally ended and the whole crew went up the stage, bowing and waving. I bet I was the first one to jump on my feet, applauding them, or rather only my mate, with enthusiasm. She looked at me, smiling and nodding her head shyly. The girl from the beginning thanked everyone for coming yet again and the curtain came down. My heart sank as I couldn't see Eve any longer. I tried to convince myself to not go after her, although I had a hard time stopping my body from moving. Liam grabbed my arm and tried to make me leave with him but I almost barked at him. I'm not going anywhere without her. He chuckled and raised his hands in surrender. “Okay, do whatever you want, but just so you know. She is going to change and leave soon if you don't move your ass.” He shrugged and went out. I almost whined and looked at Trish with the best puppy eyes I could force my face to make. She giggled and motioned me to sit back down, then she grabbed my hand. “Ryan, honey. Eve is a human, so you have to be careful and slow. We can introduce you to her, but I need to know that you won't hurt her.” I blinked rapidly. Hurt my mate? Who do they think I am? “Don't make such a pitiful face. I didn't mean physically. I know you would never hurt her or do something she doesn't want. I know you always resented fated mates and didn't want one, so I'm asking you to be gentle with her. Even if you decide to reject the bond, please, be nice. She… I don't know a lot about her, but I have a feeling that she has been through some rough things already.” I watched her closely, and took a deep breath. “I don't plan on rejecting my mate, Trish. I just want to meet her.” Trish and Kurt both smiled and stood up with me. “There is a back entrance, she will be leaving through there. Come on, we are going to introduce you to her.”
