Asher's POV
"She was sound asleep." I took one more glance at her before sitting back on the chair.
"What was that mysterious power I felt earlier? It was ominous and dark." I couldn't believe Abigail possessed such strong powers.
For the first time in a while, I felt terror in my veins. A destructive power was what my mate possessed. I had vowed to protect her, but this time she protected me. She tried to avenge me, thinking I was going to die. She risked herself for me.
I took one more look at Abigail, walked closer to her, and planted a kiss on her lips. The wound on my chest stung a bit, but it was bearable.
