The second the car door shut, I felt heaviness in between. Luke didn’t say a word as he slid into the driver’s seat, his fingers gripping the steering wheel so tightly. The muscle in his jaw ticked, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he swallowed down whatever storm was brewing inside him. I swallowed as my cheeks heated at the thoughts in my head. I waited for him to say something. Anything. He didn’t. I sighed. "Lucas..." Still nothing. I turned to fully face him, crossing my arms. "Seriously? You drag me into your car, act like you’re about to break someone’s nose, and now you’re just gonna sit there in brooding silence?" His fingers drummed against the leather, slow and deliberate, before he finally turned his head to me. His eyes, those dark, piercing eyes, pinned me in place. B
