The moment I stepped inside, my heart thumped so fast. The lights were dimmed, the space eerily quiet. There are no other people inside either. It’s like this conversation is too private that no one should hear about it.
I turned to the corner where I saw Miguel Grant, sipping espresso like he’s just chilling, but when his eyes laid off me, his expression hardened.
I drew in a breath, grounded myself, then walked over and sat across from him.
“It’s good that you didn’t say no to my invitation—”
