My heart tripped when Ezra informed me. “What?”
“Zeke and Angie are coming to the New Moon pack,” Ezra said, gritting his teeth.
I froze. “No!” My chest tightened as a shudder went down my spine. “I don’t want to see him, Ezra. I really don’t.” Images of how he treated me and imprisoned me in that cabin flooded my mind, making my mind paralyze for a moment. There are some traumas in your life that you simply couldn’t forget. And this was one of those traumas.
“You don’t have to,” Ezra said in a calm voice, coming close to me and wrapping his arms around me as if that would shield me. “I’ll make sure of that.”
But the knot in my stomach didn’t loosen. I didn’t want Zeke anywhere near me. “But how did he come to know I was here with you?”
