After getting all my stuff unpacked and put away I call my mom to let her know I got there safely. I get off the phone and look at the room I’ll be staying in for the year. Maybe I did get lucky to get a single I think to myself.
The room itself is pretty spacious, it has nice wood floors and the walls aren’t as plain after I hang up my tapestry and put my things on the shelves. The bed is a nice size and it has a small half bath. It even has a desk and some counter space for me to put some cooking appliances on.
I signed up for the meal plan but I do like cooking my own food every now and then. When I’m satisfied, I head out and lock up my room to go out and explore. Classes start tomorrow, so I have time to get more familiar with the campus. Maybe I can figure out where all my classes are so I don’t look like a lost puppy again.
I’m walking around the campus and eventually find the library. I get inside and look around. I am in awe once again. The library has high ceilings, is two stories, and has beautiful stained glass windows, with more books than I’ve ever seen in my life. I love reading so I feel like I could get lost in here forever.
I already have all the books for my classes except one. I make my way to the second floor and look for the last book I need. I’m looking for English 101 when an arm reaches over me. Startled, I jump and turn around and see yet another gorgeous guy, I have to look up to see his face.
He has messy curly blonde hair and deep green eyes, looks to be about 6ft and I can tell this guy is definitely a player as he looks down at me and smiles. He just radiates confidence.
“Uh hello.” I say a little to quiet but he seems to hear me anyway. His arm is still above me as he smirks and says “ Sorry I just needed this book above you, names Warren.” He finally grabs his book and takes a step back and looks down at me.
“My name is Celeste.” I say a little breathily. “Beautiful name for a beautiful girl.” I immediately start blushing, I look down and see that he’s holding what I’ve been looking for. “Oh, I’ve been looking for that.” He smiles and reaches above me again making me let out a little gasp as I back up into the shelf.
“Relax, beautiful just grabbing your book for you.” He hands the book to me and smirks when he see’s that I’m blushing. “Th-thank you.” I manage to stammer out. What is wrong with me? I haven’t stuttered since the third grade! He chuckles and says “I hope to see you around beautiful.” He slowly walks backwards down the aisle winks at me then he turns around and leaves.
I put my hand to my chest and realize my heart is pounding. I let out a breath I didn’t even realize I was holding. I don’t know how I’m going to survive the year let alone the semester if it keeps going like this. I wonder if i'll see him again. Since I have my books I decide to leave and drop my books off in my room. I'd like to look around some more but I'd be too embarrassed if I ran into him again.
It’s lunch time now so I decide make my way to the dining hall since I signed up for the meal plan. Surprise surprise the dining hall is huge too. With high ceilings and giant windows letting lots of light in. It has plenty of tables most of them occupied and a huge buffet.
I grab a tray and make my way over to the buffet area. As I’m standing in line, I look around and see that it looks like everyone’s already sitting in their friend groups, sure there are a few loners like me but they all look too busy to be approached.
I feel someone staring at me so I turn around and see what can only be described as a Greek god. Wtf is there something in the water here?? He’s yet another tall guy who looks to be over 6ft. He has tan skin, dark hair pulled back in a man bun, is super muscular, and has intense hazel eyes that are staring right at me. He’s not even standing that close, but I can feel the heat radiating off him.
“Um hello.” His presence is intimidating and make me feel smaller than I already am. This guy exudes power and dominance. His face is impassive as he looks at me intensely and he says “Hi, sorry for staring. I just…what are you?”
The last part he whispers so I’m not sure I heard him right. “I’m sorry?” he looks unsure of himself but he just says “Sorry, my mistake.” And walks off. I’m left there just looking confused when I realize I’m next in line.
I quickly try to reorient myself as I turn around and I grab my food. I then made my way over to an empty table. What was that about? I wonder as I take a bite of my sandwich.
