Chapter One

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! “Ugh” I wake up to my screeching alarm. I roll over and look at my clock, see that it says 7am and force myself to get out of bed. I am SO not a morning person, and I didn’t get any sleep last night because of all the nervous excitement I’ve been feeling. Today is my first day at college. I couldn’t believe that I got accepted. It’s not like it was an ivy league college or anything but it was still the best one in the state. I managed to graduate with a pretty good GPA a 3.8. I worked really hard and spent countless nights studying. And because of that I never really made that many friends and I wasn't popular by any means. It's not like I was a loser or anything I was just always the quiet girl. I don't expect college to be much different I'll study hard and if I make a few friends then I'd be satisfied. And if I end up staying single then so be it, a relationship has never been my top priority if it happens it happens. I pull on the outfit I picked out the night before because I couldn’t sleep. Some jeans and a white flowy top with my favorite leather jacket that i saved up a few paychecks for. I go to the bathroom and refresh my hair, it's a wild mess on top of my head from all the tossing and turning the night before. Then I look myself over in the mirror. I’m not a tiny girl by any means besides my height that is. I’m what you would call “slim thick” thick thighs and ass, tiny waist, and a large chest. I have tan skin and eyes so dark they almost looked black. I have long black curly hair that goes down to my waist. I had only recently learned how to really take care of it this summer after watching lots and lots of YouTube videos. I was not about to straighten my hair everyday anymore. I took on lots of classes this semester and would't have the time. After I grab my bags I take one last look at my room before I leave. It's a small room but it has my whole life in it. A double sized bed, a desk, and some decorations on the wall. I’ll be staying in the dorms so I won’t be home much. I head downstairs and It’s about 7:30 now. I see my mom finishing up breakfast in the kitchen. I'm going to miss her home cooked meals for sure. Unlike me she has straight easy to manage hair that always looks perfect. She's short like me but is nice and thin. Sometimes I wonder where I get my genes from because I feel like I look nothing like her even though everyone else says otherwise. “Morning sweetheart” I say good morning as I grab a plate and start to load on some pancakes and bacon. She makes the best pancakes.“Are you sure you don’t want your dad and me to drive you to the campus?” I sit my food down across from my dad reading the morning paper with his coffee. He's a tall guy 5'10" and is pretty fit and healthy for a guy his age. He has lighter colored hair and green eyes I wish I would've inherited those from him. My parents met in college and have been inseparable ever since. One day I hope to find a love like theirs. “No that’s ok, I promise I’ll call you guys once I get settled in my dorm. I'd like to have my car there with me incase I want to explore the town.” My dad sets down his paper and looks at me. “You know we’re very proud of you sweetheart, you make sure to call us if you need anything, anything at all.” With a mouthful of pancakes I smile and mumble “Thanks dad.” After we all finish breakfast I head to my car, it’s a yellow beetle and although it’s not the most practical car I love it. I saved up for it with my own money a couple summers ago and she’s been with me ever since. I give my parents a hug we say our goodbyes and I head off. I've been driving for about 40 minutes when I finally arrive. I’ve been here before, when I got accepted I went on a tour but I still can’t believe how enormous this place is. Instead of a college it looks more like a castle with its iron gates, brick walls with ivy growing on them, and high towers, complete with gargoyles perched on collums, and it was surrounded by woods. Not gonna lie it's kind of creepy but it's beautiful at the same time. It’s the best college in Washington state and I’m excited to be here. I pull out my map of the campus to find my way to my dorms as I have no idea where I’m going. After wondering around for about 20 minutes, I think I am officially lost. This campus is HUGE with lots of buildings all looking older and creepier than the next. I’m looking down at my map to figure out where I went wrong and when I look up I see one of the most gorgeous guys I’ve ever seen. He was tall, extremely tall compared to me in my small 5’2” frame. He looked to be at least 6ft. He had black wavy hair, piercing blue eyes, pale skin, he was lean, but I could tell he was muscular. Dressed in black from head to toe, with tattoos and piercings, a bad boy if I’ve ever seen one.“You lost?” He asks me with a smoldering grin on his face. For a second I forgot how to speak. “Uh yeah I’m looking for my dorm.” I finally managed to spit out. Real smooth. “Which dorm are you staying in?” I glance down at my paper to see where I’m staying. “Looks like I’ll be staying in Earhart Hall.” “I know exactly where that’s at, here let me take you.” I start to follow him look up at him and say “So my name is Celeste, by the way." He smiles and looks down at me. “The name is Zane. Here, let me take that for you” He gestures to my duffle bag I have slung over my shoulder. “Thanks!” I say as I gladly hand it over. I’ve been struggling to carry that and my suitcase. As he takes it from my hand, I’m startled by how cold his skin is. “So are you a freshman?” I ask him. “Yes, I just know my way around because I have some friends that went here last year.” “Ah that’s nice you have friends that go here. I don’t know anyone here yet, so I hope I can make some friends.” We’re already at the door to my dorm when he smiles at me and says. “Well, you’ve already made one.” I smile and unlock my dorm then gesture for him to come inside. “You can just put that on the bed thanks.” He looks around the room and says.“Ah you got a single, aren’t you lucky?” I sigh. “I was actually hoping to have a roommate so I’d maybe know someone else here but they didn’t have any left by the time I applied.” He lets out a buttery smooth laugh. “Trust me, you don’t want a roommate there’s an 80% chance that they would've been horrible.” “I guess I got lucky then, did you?” “Oh I applied early so I made sure I got a single I'm actually staying in the dorm building across from here. So i'll be close by if you ever need a friend.” Is that a hint of mischief I see in his eyes? I just smile at him and say "Good to know." As I start to unzip my suitcase. “ Well I’ll let you get situated, see you around little Star.” He winks at me as he walks away. I laugh at the nickname and wave him off. After he's gone, I plop down on the bed. Are all the guys here this hot? They certainly didn't look like that at my old school. If so I’m in trouble.
