CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Class went by quickly. I put my things away and slowly got up to leave, Zane was right behind me. “So what are your plans this evening Little Star?” I slung my bag over my shoulder and looked over my shoulder at him. “Well I’ll probably go for a run and then I have to meet up with Warren to go over our project.” He sighed. “That guy huh? You should be careful around him.” I stopped and looked at him confused. “And why is that?” He scratched the back of his neck and looked away. “I don’t know just a feeling.” I shook my head and smirked at him. “Uh huh sure.” Something tells me he’s just jealous. He leaned down took my hand and kissed it startling me making me blush and my breath hitch. “Enjoy your run Little Star, see you tomorrow.” He give me a smirk dropped my hand and walked away, leaving me standing there stunned. I shook my head and headed to my dorm to change into some running clothes. I got to my dorm and put my things away. I looked at my phone and remember I needed to give my mom a call. She picked up after one ring like she was waiting for me to call. “Hello sweetheart I’ve been waiting for you to call. How are you enjoying school so far? Have you made any friends? How is your dorm? Meet anyone cute?” I laid down on my bed and looked around my room. “Hey mom, schools good so far. I’ve made a couple friends. And my dorm room is pretty nice. How are you and dad doing?” I said avoiding the cute question. I heard clanging pots in the back round she must be starting on dinner. “Oh that’s great Celeste, I'm glad to hear you’re enjoying it so far. Your dad and I are doing well. We miss you of course. But we are so proud of you.” I smiled. “I miss you guys too. I’m about to go for a quick run before I eat dinner. Just wanted to give you a call and check in.” “Oh of course sweetheart I know you must be busy. I love you make sure to keep in touch. Don't be a stranger now.” “I love you too mom, let dad know I said hi.” After that we hung up. I ran my hands over my face and let out a sigh. I got up off the bed and changed into some workout leggings, my sports bra, and a tank top. I threw my hair up into a pony tail grabbed my earbuds and went out the door. I turned my workout playlist on shuffle and Transparent Soul by Willow started playing. I made it to the trail behind the library and started running. I decided to avoid the woods this time, feeling a little uneasy. Unsure if there really were wolfs in there or not. After running for about 30 minutes I was tired. I decided to head back so I could take a shower before meeting up with Warren. On my way up to my dorm I wasn’t paying attention and literally ran into a hard chest and fell down on my ass. “Ouch.”I rubbed my ass, well that's definitely going to leave a bruise. I looked up and saw that it was Darren. He offered his hand to me to help me up, I took it. “I’m so sorry. Are you ok? I need to pay more attention to where I’m going.” He chuckled and shook his head at me. "It’s fine. Are you ok though? Looked like you fell pretty hard there. I laughed wiping the dirt off my ass. I’m such a clutz. “I might wake up and have a bruise on my ass in the morning but I’ll be fine.” “ Do you go running often?” He asked gesturing to my clothes. I nodded my head “Yeah it’s a good way to shut my brain off for a little bit, plus it’s a good workout.” He nodded. “Let me know if you ever need a running buddy. Though I doubt you could keep up with me.” He smirked at me showing his dimples. Oh god girl, try not to swoon now. I laughed shaking my head out of my thoughts. “Oh is that a challenge I hear?” He shrugged. “Maybe” I chuckled. “Oh you’re so on.” Realizing I must look like a sweaty mess right now I told him goodbye and headed to the showers.
