I head off to my next class, computer science. I haven’t actually decided what to major in as I’m indecisive, but I’ve always been interested in graphic design, so I figured I’d take a class for it. It’s up on the third floor so I have to be quick about it if I want to make it in time and get a decent seat.
By the time I get there I’m out of breath from rushing up the stairs. When I open the door to the room the class is full.
All of the seats are taken except for one in the back. Thank goodness I don’t like to sit in the front. Not because I like to slack off or anything, but because I usually finish my work early and don’t want the teacher to reprimand me for just staring off into space.
I head for it and then I realize who’s sitting in the one next to me. No other than Darren. f**k me! I hope he doesn’t pull any more weird s**t and consider asking someone else to switch with me when the teacher addresses the class.
“The seats you have taken will be your permanent seats for the rest of the semester. I know most teachers just let you sit wherever but each computer has a password to log in and I won’t be resetting passwords for people who want to change seats every day. So, I hope you have chosen wisely.”
Well isn’t this lovely? I turn to look at Darren and he seems to be ignoring me so hopefully that’s a sign that he’s going to leave me alone. The teacher starts a presentation and after about 20 minutes I feel his eyes on me again. I try my best to ignore him but after awhile I start to get frustrated. So I turn and whisper at him.
“What is your problem with me?” He looks surprised at this. He ponders on it for a moment. “I don’t have a problem with you, I just…” There he goes being all mysterious again. “You just what?” He looks in my eyes and in spite of myself I can’t help but think how handsome he is. “I’m just trying to figure you out, that’s all.”
I look at him confused. “There’s nothing to “figure out” about me, I’m just a normal girl.” He actually looks amused at this when he says. “No, I don’t think you are.” I’m baffled at this point honestly.
“Whatever you say Darren.” I go to turn back around to the presentation, but he stops me. “By the way, what’s your name?” This is my third interaction with this guy and NOW he wants to know my name?
I can’t help but laugh.” It’s Celeste.” He actually has a small smile on his lips when he turns back around to the teacher and I do the same.
Once the teacher is done, I get up quickly and get out of there before Darren can ask me any more questions. I really hope this next class is uneventful because at this point, I feel like I’ve been riding on a nonstop roller-coaster.
I look down at my schedule and see that my next class is math. Luckily it’s on the same floor so I won’t have to rush this time. I make it there with plenty of time to spare.
I set my things down and wait for class to begin. Math is my least favorite subject to say the least. I wouldn’t say I’m bad at it but it does tend to give me a headache on occasion.
Right before class starts a gorgeous girl walks in, she literally looks like she could be a model. She has long blonde hair, blue eyes, and legs that go on for miles. She takes the last open seat next to me and smiles.
“Hi my name is Liza.” She reaches her hand out to me and I take it. “Nice to meet you, my name is Celeste.” She has a nice smile that seems genuine, I hope that we can be friends.
I don’t get to say anything else as class begins. The teacher puts up a few equations on the board and tells us to work them out and to let her know if we need any help.
I get them done pretty quickly. I look over at Liza to see how she’s doing and see that she’s done too. “So are you from around here?” I ask her. She looks up at me and smiles. “No actually I’m from out of town I just got here today.”
We talk awhile about how creepy the campus is and I find out she’s staying in the same dorm building as me. We agree to hang out later and meet up at the coffee shop after our classes are done. Before I know it class is over and I’m off.
I have a free period before my last class so I decide to go to the library to take a look around and maybe pick up a few books to read. The library is in a separate building of it’s own so I head down the stairs and go outside.
I take my time walking to the library to take in the scenery. Not only is the campus surrounded by woods but I can see snowcapped mountains off in the distance. It feels nice to get some fresh air after my crazy morning.
I make it to the library and take my time looking through the non-fiction section hoping to find the last “Game of Thrones” book. I find it with ease and pick up a couple more books on my way to the counter. I have an arm full of books now and don’t exactly want to carry them to my next class. So I make my way to my dorm to drop them off.
On my way there I stop as I feel like I’m being watched. I look around and don’t see anyone at all. Just a few birds flying off into the distance. I can’t shake the feeling though so I quicken my pace to my room.
I make it there without any incidents, so I decided I was probably just over reacting. I drop off my books and leave for my next class. On my way back to the building I run into Zane again.
“Wow small campus we keep running into each other. Are you sure you aren’t following me?” He mocks being wounded as he dramatically puts his hand to his heart.
“No way little Star it just seems as though fate keeps pushing us together.” He says with a smirk. I can’t help but roll my eyes at that one. “So where are you headed?” I say as I playfully shove him. “Graphic design, you?” Of course he is. “What a coincidence so am I.” He gasps and brings his hands to his mouth. “It must be the fates!” I can’t help but laugh. “Sure it is.”
