When I awoke I had forgotten where I was. I opened my eyes with a start, the ocean was calm and reflecting the light of the moon. I slowly sat up and realized I was completely covered in sand. I tried unsuccessfully to brush It all off. I sighed realizing my attempts were futile. I got back in my car and looked at my phone. It was 3am. I rubbed my eyes and headed back to the school. It was a long drive back, by the time I got to the school it was 4:30. I headed to my dorm to grab my shower bag so I could wash all this sand away. The showers were empty since no one was awake at this hour. I felt numb, I didn’t have any energy for tears anymore and my anger had washed away with the sand.
