Chapter 31: Commands

1280 Words

Confrontation was inevitable. Emotions had reached their boiling point. Alpha Nickles' temples pounded in his rage, and the room transformed into a warzone. A heavy paperweight was the first to shatter against the far wall, followed by a cascade of books from the shelves. Atlas and Benjamin had to move quickly, darting to opposite sides of the temple's alpha office. Nickles grabbed a wooden chair, hurling it towards Atlas, who narrowly dodged, the chair splintering into pieces as it smashed against the floor. Benjamin sought cover behind a large desk, but it offered little protection as Nickles swept everything off it with a violent roar, sending papers, pens, and a glass decanter crashing to the ground. "Enough!" Atlas shouted, but his words were drowned by the cacophony of destruction.
