CHAPTER FOUR: "A NIGHT TO REMEMBER"

430 Words
Hazel floated home, feeling like she was on cloud nine. She couldn't stop thinking about Jordan and their amazing date. Every detail was etched in her memory, from the way he smiled at her to the way he made her laugh. As she walked in the door, her mom looked up from her book. "How was your date, sweetie?" she asked, her not to forget to be careful and not get too caught up in things. You're still getting to know him, after all." Hazel nodded, feeling a little frustrated. She knew her mom was just trying to protect her, but sometimes she felt like she was being suffocated. She was 17, after all - couldn't she make her own decisions? As she went to her room to do her homework, Hazel's phone buzzed with a text from Jordan. "Hey, I had an amazing time today. Can't wait to see you again." Hazel's heart skipped a beat as she read the text. She couldn't wait to see Jordan again either. She felt a flutter in her chest as she thought about their next date, wondering what they would do and where they would go. She spent the rest of the evening daydreaming about Jordan and their next date. She imagined them walking hand in hand through the park, laughing and talking like they had on their first date. She pictured them trying new restaurants and going to concerts together, exploring the city and making memories that would last a lifetime. As she drifted off to sleep, Hazel felt a sense of excitement and anticipation. She knew that this was just the beginning of an amazing adventure, one that she was eager to embark on with Jordan by her side. Little did Hazel know, her parents were watching her from afar, worried about the potential dangers of her new relationship. They had always been protective of their daughter, and now they were more vigilant than ever. As Hazel slept, her parents sat in the living room, discussing their concerns. "We need to make sure she's safe," her mom said, her voice low and serious. "I agree," her dad replied. "We'll have to keep a close eye on her, make sure she's not getting in over her head." Hazel's mom nodded, her eyes narrowed with determination. "We'll do whatever it takes to protect our daughter." But as they sat there, watching the darkness outside, they couldn't shake the feeling that they were fighting a losing battle. Hazel was growing up, and she was determined to make her own way in the world.
