Day and Helen sat at Café Ta Xromata reading the newspaper over coffee. It seemed hard to believe that only yesterday they had found the body in the stone hut. Day was aware that Helen had not said a word about it since they had left the police station. He had no idea whether to encourage her to talk or not. She didn’t seem to want to, but not discussing it seemed unhealthy to Day.
They picked up a few groceries in the local shop and began the walk back to the house. Day’s mobile rang. It was Petros Tsifas, the curator of the Elias museum, who apologised for the inconvenience caused by his absence and invited Day over the following morning.
