29 Day worked until late afternoon, when his mind lost its sharpness and he yearned for an hour of refreshing sleep. The heat was really powerful, and the Elias house, though its thick walls kept out the heat, was not air-conditioned. He yawned, closed down his laptop and sneaked out of the little study. Circumventing the last visitors being shown into the main room, he waved goodbye to Petros and got to his car. It had been almost blocked in by the visitors, and it took five minutes to manoeuvre his way out. As he drove eastwards towards Filoti, the sun flooded through the car from behind.
