Police Seize Illegal Antiquities Haul
The Naxian received information this morning from the Naxos Police concerning the arrest yesterday of several men on charges connected with the illegal export of Helladic antiquities.
The NaxianInspectors Nomikos and Cristopoulos, jointly in charge of this operation, have not named the two men arrested on Naxos, but have confirmed that neither is a Greek national. Both men have been on Naxos for a period of about two weeks, during which time they have been under police surveillance in connection with a long-running investigation into illegal antiquities smuggling in the Cyclades.
