Day shifted his chair so he could see everyone. He particularly wanted to watch Helen. He was glad he had already planned what he was going to say. He warmed to his subject now, as he might on a broadcast.
“I think I know what Michael was really doing here on Naxos. We know he invited Alex Harding-Jones and Kate Russell to come with him to look for the tomb, and yet Michael kept them at arm’s length from the start. I believe Michael had two reasons for coming to Naxos. But first, let’s consider his genuine hunt for an undiscovered site that he was convinced was here, somewhere off the long Naxos-Halki road.
