47 Day returned to the main room after having told Helen that Giannis and he were safe and that Petros had admitted the murders of Michael and Dimitris. Helen, still with Vasilios in the taverna, told him there was no sign yet of the police. Day hesitated outside the room where he had left Petros with Giannis. He didn’t know what to do, and he didn’t have any time to work it out. He didn’t want the police to arrest Petros Tsifas; more than anything he wanted to prevent it.
