couldn't believe my eyes at who I was staring at—Ryan, my mission; why is he so stupidly handsome? I have to put myself together so that I won't embarrass myself.
Clearing my throat, “hmm.” As I continue to explain the food we prepared, Ryan looks up at me. The guy looks dangerous. Or does he already know me? That can't be true.
I was dumbfounded for a second when I glanced up to look at the waitress. She has beautiful pink lips and golden eyes that make her—oh wait, am I drooling? I asked in my mind.
“Can I have coffee?” The girl among them asked. Who asks for coffee when there's a heaven of food in front of you? My sister asked for coffee, and I noticed that the girl was not moving but just staring.
A voice jolted me from my thoughts. Definitely, I've been staring and not moving.
“Are you deaf or what?” Ryan snapped
“Uhm… Sorry,I will go get it right away. How will you take it?” I asked, facing the girl. So this guy has got to be an asshole.
“Cream iced coffee; don't put too much sugar and no foam,” she replies, smiling.
"Okay,” I said, darting to the kitchen to get the coffee.
“So you almost embarrassed yourself out there?” Jayden asked, chuckling.
“Yeah, right, wiseass,” I snarled at him.
“You know you don't need to be an ass to the girl." Sean said, squinting at me.
“Don't you see how she was staring like a fool?" Ryan growled
“Maybe you should try and be nice, Sean said.
“Which is probably why he never gets a girlfriend when she is talking to women as if they're idiots,” Anna said, smiling.
“Thank you for bringing up my love life,” I said, which filled me with sarcasm.
Not long after, the waitress appeared again with the coffee.
“This is your iced coffee,” Mia said, smiling. She sips the coffee, and I can see her face lightening up.
"Wow, superb,” she said, smiling at me.
“This French treat is delicious." The second man said he was smiling.
“I'm so delighted that you find it delicious,” I said, smiling at him.
“Can I have cabernet sauvignon, please?”
“Of course, coming right up,” I said hurriedly to bring the red wine.
When I get back, I see the handsome man furious, which makes him so dangerous, and I see the girl all red as if she were on fire.
“Why the f**k will you guys put onions in her food, which I clearly indicate not to?" He barks at me, which makes all the coworkers come out.
“I don't understand, sir." I said it firmly. It's not in me to be shaking for just shouting. I'm stronger than that.
“Am I speaking Chinese that you don't understand?" He shouted, and I can see in his eyes that he is so furious and that he looks dangerous as hell.
“You know what? Get me your f*****g manager right now." He spat angrily.
“All of you that cook stupid food are f*****g fired!” he shouted. I almost scoff, but I swallow the sound because I don't want anything to jeopardize my mission.
I see our manager running to meet the handsome—no wait, he doesn't deserve anymore—scary man shaking as he stands. He instructs the manager to fire anyone involved in the cooking.
“Calm down, buddy; Anna will be alright’’ The second man said, He is surely a gentle man.
“I clearly indicate in my reservation that there is no f*****g onion inside caviar,” he said factually.
“I'm very sorry, Mr. Ryan, and I make sure I indicate it to them; I just don't know how they missed it." Our manager (Josh) said: I almost whined, but again, I suppressed it because, what the f**k, Josh never mentioned “no onions inside caviar” in the email. I may not have read it, but even if I hadn't, Jayden would have told me.
“We're very sorry, Mr. Ryan; it won't ever happen again." I apologized and used my most calm, or what I think is a calm voice. As I looked up, Mr. Ryan, as Josh said, had already carried the girl, and I noticed her body had started to change color. God, I hope this girl is okay. After Mr. Ryan stormed out of our restaurant,.
Josh started venting his anger on us and threatening us with our job, as if we're the ones who wrote the email. All of my coworkers are staring at the floor, shaking, which I don't do because I'm not afraid of Josh.
“It's not our fault, and you know it." I remarked
“The f**k did you just say? Have you lost your f*****g mind?" He shouted at me, which caused everyone to flinch except me.
“You're the one that wrote the email without putting ”no onions inside caviar,” I said factually.
“I dare you to let another word out of your f*****g mouth; it seems like you have another job." He snarled. I can feel Jayden's eyes on me, which makes me turn to him. He is using his eyes to tell me, “I should shut the f**k up,” and I reply with my eyes, “I don't give a damn.”
I scoffed. “Have you forgotten that you're just a manager, an employee like us, not the owner?” I said sharply. Everyone gasps. Well, I don't care because I hate it when people blame another person for their stupid mistake instead of admitting it.
He prodded anxiously, brows furrowed, lips pursed—just the picture of unease—and I can see in his eyes that he did not expect me to say that.
“Just wait until I report you to the general manager and kiss your job goodbye." He shouted angrily and stormed into his office. Immediately he left, and everyone looked at me dumbfounded.
"What?” I said, cackled.
“What do you mean ”what?" You just confronted Josh, our manager." Sophie was one of the waitresses.
“Wait, did you have another job?” Lucy asked
“Are you on drugs?” Lia asked, looking at me.
“One question at a time,” I said, smiling.
“And to answer your question, Josh is an assistant manager, not the general manager, and he can't blame us for his mistake; 2. I did not have any other job; and 3. I'm not on drugs." I explained, smiling.
“I bet you're on his enemy list now." Jayden said, chuckling.
“Like I care, but on a serious note, he won't dare report me to the general manager,” I said.
“What makes you say so?” Jayden asked.
“Because I have proof to justify my answer, and he doesn't,” I said.
“Yeah, that's right." Lucy agree
"Smartass,” Jayden said, smiling.
“Since it's closing time, let's close up and go have a drink, and we can eat hotdogs or hamburgers to wash away the bad mood,” Sophie said excitedly.
“Sorry guys, I have somewhere to be,“ I said, excusing myself and waving bye.
“ I entered my small car and sighed, “What a long day,” then my phone pinged. I received a message, “Don't be deceived by the good face,” from an unknown number. What the hell?.
