UNKNOWN POV
The guy on the concrete floor was on his knees, shaking like a leaf. He was desperately trying to hold back his tears as he struggled to breathe.
Right in front of him, a man sat chilling on a metal folding chair. His black suit was tailored to perfection, not a single crease in sight.
Nobody made a sound. The silence made the warehouse feel even more suffocating.
The kneeling guy finally broke it.
“Boss... please.”
The man swirled the whisky in his glass, looking bored.
“Please what?”
The guy swallowed hard. “I... I have a family.”
“And?”
“I messed up.”
“Did you?”
The man stood and walked towards him, stopping right in front of him.
“A mistake,” he said, his voice dangerously calm, “is when you forget to show up for a meeting or sign the wrong contract.”
The guy stared up at him, pale as a ghost.
“But letting Kang Do-yun go?” His gaze turned cold. “That's treason.”
A gunshot rang through the warehouse before the guy could beg again.
The man walked back to his seat and sat down, taking another sip of his whisky.
“How did he escape?”
The remaining men exchanged nervous glances until one finally gathered enough courage to speak.
“He met with Seo-jun.”
The man paused.
“Seo-jun?”
The guy nodded quickly.
A slow smirk spread across his face.
“Interesting.”
Just then, a young woman walked into the warehouse.
“Kang Do-yun is always a step ahead, isn't he?”
The man chuckled and pulled her onto his lap.
“As long as he's dead, we'll be in the clear.”
The girl burst into laughter, the kind that could make your skin crawl at night, before pulling him into a kiss.
The men standing in the background exchanged relieved glances and quietly left the warehouse.
SEO-YUN'S POV
I let out a long breath as the ambulance arrived.
Kang Do-yun was still unconscious, and lucky for him, his friend arrived just in time.
Are all the guys around him specially created? Because their looks scream HOT.
The thought popped into my head, and I quickly shook it away.
Seriously, Seo-yun? A man nearly died in front of you.
“Hi, I'm Park Ji-hoon.”
I looked up.
A handsome young man stood in front of me, stretching out his hand.
I shook it.
“I'm—”
“Han Seo-yun. So I've heard.”
He smirked, and I swear butterflies flew around in my stomach.
But wait.
“How did you—”
His attention shifted towards Kang Do-yun, who was being taken into the ambulance.
“I'm sorry, beauty. I need to go. We'll see some other time.”
Before I could say anything, he hurried towards his Rolls-Royce and followed the ambulance.
I stood there, watching his car disappear.
That's weird.
“Who's that hottie?”
A voice suddenly spoke behind me.
“AHHH!”
I nearly jumped out of my shoes, raising both hands in defence as I spun around.
“Kim Na-ri!”
She burst into laughter.
Kim Na-ri was my classmate and also my friend. A very annoying one, if I might add.
“What the hell are you doing here?” I demanded, placing a hand over my chest.
She just smiled and nudged me with her elbow.
“I was walking past and saw that hottie.”
I narrowed my eyes.
“But since he's gone, I'll leave.”
She turned and started walking away.
“Kim Na-ri!”
She broke into a run, laughing.
I stared after her.
Fool.
She's always about hotties.
