[Elena Sinclair]
My mind raced, trying to make sense of it all. The man from the club, the one I had recklessly thrown myself at in a moment of heartbreak, was standing in front of me with that same dangerous glint in his eyes. But now, there was something else there, something that made my stomach twist in knots—authority, power, and a cold, unwavering control that commanded respect.
“What’s going on here?” The Alpha King repeated, his voice cutting through the stunned silence like a blade.
Natasha, still reeling from the shock of seeing him, was the first to recover. Her eyes darted to me, and I saw the gears turning in her head. She was going to twist this and make me the villain. Bracing myself for the inevitable as she stepped forward; her face a mask of false innocence.
“Alpha,” she began, her voice trembling slightly but quickly gaining confidence, “we were just trying to protect our school. Elena here... well, she’s been causing trouble. She’s always been a bad influence, and today she went too far.”
My jaw clenched as I listened to her, fury bubbling up inside me. How dare she try to pin this on me?
“She’s accused me of cheating with her boyfriend all because she was jealous and slapped me over her false accusations; she is nothing but a bad apple, the daughter of a rogue w***e,” Natasha continued, her voice laced with venom. “Everyone knows it. She doesn’t belong here. She’s just a bad person, and she attacked us for no reason!”
“Petition for her to be punished by explosion, “she offered, and her crews greedily supported her, chanting all the way.
My blood boiled at her words, but before I could retort and defend myself, the Alpha King’s voice cut through the air, sharp and commanding.
“Enough,” he said, his tone leaving no room for argument. “You will not speak about her that way.” Natasha froze, her mouth snapping shut as she realized she had overstepped her boundary, so also her crews, who had been backing her up just moments ago, shrank back, fear evident in their eyes.
“Alpha, I—” Natasha stammered, trying to recover, but he cut her off.
“Do you think that attacking someone in a group in the middle of school is behavior befitting of the daughters of this pack?” His voice was calm, but there was an underlying fury that made natasha and her minion’s tremble. “And to slander someone like that? You’ve not only shown yourselves to be cowards but also disrespectful and dishonorable.”
I couldn’t help the small, satisfied snicker that escaped my lips at his remark. Seeing Natasha put in her place by someone she clearly feared was more satisfying than I could have imagined. The look of shock and embarrassment on her face was priceless.
The Alpha King’s gaze flicked to me briefly, his expression unreadable, before he turned back to Natasha and her minions.
“I don’t care what personal issues you have,” he continued, his voice steady and commanding. “You will not resort to this kind of behavior again. Is that understood?”
“Yes, Alpha,” they murmured, their heads bowed in shame.
“Good,” he said, his tone leaving no room for argument. Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed down the hallway, and the academy principal appeared. His face flushed as he quickly made his way over to us.
“Alpha King, I apologize for not being here sooner,” the principal said, slightly out of breath. He looked between the Alpha and the group of girls, clearly sensing the tension in the air. “Is there an issue?”
“Nothing that hasn’t been handled,” the Alpha replied smoothly. “However, I suggest you keep a closer eye on the conduct of your students.”
“Of course, Alpha,” the principal agreed, nodding quickly. “I assure you; this will not happen again.”
The Alpha gave him a curt nod, then turned back to the girls. “You’re dismissed. I trust there won’t be a repeat of this behavior.”
The girls quickly dispersed, Natasha casting one last venomous glance in my direction before hurrying away with her minions in tow. As the tension in the air eased, I took the opportunity to slip away, making a beeline for my classroom. My heart was still pounding, and my mind was racing with everything that had just happened. I needed to find some semblance of normalcy, something to ground me before I completely lost it.
When I finally reached the door, I paused for a moment to catch my breath, then slipped inside. My best friend, Ruby, was already there, sitting in her usual seat. Her eyes lit up when she saw me; she dramatically breathed out in relief.
“Thank goddess Selene, for a second I thought you had been kidnapped for ransom or something; call your line, send you a couple of messages; no reply; got me all worried; where the f**k were you last night Lena?”
Her eyes bulge in surprise when she takes a good look at my face.
“What the hell happened to you? You looked like you got warzone.”
“Thanks, so much a night and morning it has been,” I flatly reply as her brow quirked.
I slump to my seat. “Caught world-perfect boyfriend cheating, and you wouldn’t f*****g believe with who, Natasha f*****g Margret, there I said it,” her eyes growing big as saucers.
“Holy sh*t,” her mouth hangs open in shock as she processes the bombshell drop.
Yep,my same reaction yesterday
“Holy f**k, never did I f*****g ever see that coming; that fucker has the f*****g nerves to come ask me about you. After f*****g up, goddess gracious, should I have known, he would have f*****g ended up with his f*****g teeth and balls broken, dare to f*****g cheat on my bestie,” she rants out.
“Damn girl, that’s a lot of Fs words.” Knowing her, she will have done more than breaking teeth and balls for me.
“Nah, I’m good and back to the single zone. Poor sad me, All back to square one”.
She handed me her makeup kit as I began a light makeover to mask out the bruises.
“So, you didn’t tell me, how did you end up with nail scratch all over you? Did you participate in a lesbian b**m orgy?”
I chuckle, suddenly feeling the pain from the wounds as I wince. “I mean, that would have been better; Natasha had to be a b***h this morning and rub it on my face; how she has my boyfriend wrapped around her fingers.”
“ex-boyfriend” I corrected
“What, they did this to you? She questioned fuming as she makes advance to stand up, and from where her gaze is fixated, Natasha and her millions are in for it.”
I drag her down, “Thou shall not trouble, trouble; the professor will be arriving soon; I wouldn’t want to be summoned to the principal office; I don’t have the resources to pull myself out; and besides someone, step in and save me before things escalate.”
Ruby’s eyes widened even further. “Who? Who saved you?”
I hesitated, unsure of how to even begin explaining what had happened. “It was... the Alpha King.”
Ruby’s jaw dropped. “The Alpha King? You’re kidding!”
I wonder how she will react when I tell her of last night's escapades with the same alpha king.
I shook my head, still feeling a bit numb from the shock of it all. “No, I’m not. He showed up out of nowhere and basically put Natasha in her place. It was... intense; you should have seen the look on that b***h face; so iconic, something worth putting a dollar on to see again.”
My wolf snickered, reminiscing about the whole scenario.
Ruby stared at me in disbelief, clearly trying to wrap her head around the situation when I narrated it to her, “That’s insane, Elena; you mean to tell me, you were f*****g in the alpha arms, hot f*****g alpha Dimitri, b***h, I’m so jealous of you right now, but come to think of it, why is the Alpha King even at our academy?”
Wow, so his name is Dimitri. Nice.
“I have no idea,” I admitted, my mind racing as I tried to make sense of everything. “But there’s something else... something I need to tell you.” That piqued her interest as she fully focuses on me.
Before I could continue, the classroom door opened, and the principal walked in. My heart sank as I saw who was following him. The Alpha King.
The room fell silent as everyone turned to see who had entered. The principal cleared his throat, looking more nervous than I’d ever seen him.
“Good morning, students,” he began, his voice a little shaky. “I’d like to introduce you to someone very important. This is Alpha Dimitri Volkov, the alpha king, and he will be joining us as your new professor for the remainder of the semester.”
The room erupted into whispers and gasps, but all I could do was stare at the Alpha King in stunned disbelief. My heart dropped into my stomach. I could feel the blood draining from my face as the principal’s words echoed in my ears. The Alpha King—my new professor.
I stared at him in disbelief, my mind struggling to comprehend what this meant. My thoughts raced, panic bubbling just below the surface. This couldn’t be happening. Is the universe or goddess Selene playing some cruel joke on me?
As the Alpha King’s gaze swept over the class, his eyes landed on me. For a brief moment, our eyes locked, and I saw the slightest flicker of recognition in his expression. But then it was gone, replaced by the calm, authoritative demeanor he had shown earlier.
I forced myself to breathe, to stay calm, even as my world tilted on its axis. This was not how I expected my life to turn out. Not at all. With my nightstand turning out to be the alpha king, and now my professor,
“Oh, this keeps getting better and more complicated,” my wolf sienna pipe, clearly amused.
