The council

I couldn’t stop crying. Everything was just too much pressure, I could feel a lump in my throat and ran to the bathroom and threw up all my lunch! I felt a heat on my back and instantly felt better. It was hunter. I got up and brushed my teeth and found the mouthwash.

“Hunter, what was that? I felt a heat on my back and then I instantly felt better”

“You know how my sister can heal and my mum is a seer? Well I can take away people’s feelings and calm them”

“How? How are you all gifted?”

“My mother is is the first hybrid known in warewolf history. My grandmother is a full blooded witch mated with a wolf, my grandfather. When my mother was born, she was born a wolf with witch powers”

“I don’t understand, I thought werewolves mated with other supernaturals couldn’t bare children. The ones that did, those children would either be wolf or witch, not both!”

“Which is why my mother is the first hybrid. Her mother is the queen of all witches and my grandfather an Alpha. We are kind of royalty in both supernatural worlds”

This was too much to take in! I’ve never heard of this. Nanny G always told me stories of the Black Moon Pack and said they were special, but never said they were part witches! Does this mean my pups will be hybrids too?

“When we have pups, will they have gifts too?”

“Are you saying you want pups my love?” I felt my cheeks burn, ive always wanted a big family but I was scared. I didn’t want to be like my parents and only have 1 pup. Hunter started laughing. Oh goddess can I take that back?

“There’s nothing wrong with wanting pups Angel, I want them too. I want little girls that look just like you” WHAT?? Did he just say he wants pups that look just like me? Can this man get any more sexier? My body ached for him and his body responded but we were interrupted by a knock on the door!

“Is it safe big brother?” Hunter grunted, “we will continue this later”.

“Come in squirt”

She ran in and jumped on the bed and got in between us. Thank the goddess we still had clothes on. She was so adorable and I felt very protective of her already.

“Alyra, can you braid my hair?” I had no idea how to braid hair but I didn’t want to disappoint her. I’m a fast learner, surely I can look it up on YouTube or whatever they call it. We were not allowed on social Media, Alpha Ritchie banned it saying that we had everything we needed within the pack. Our library had computers but it was only for educational purposes.

“Sure! I don’t know how but I will try my best, ok?” Her face lit up like it was Christmas Day. I always wanted a sister and now I have 2.

“Ally, did you come here to ask if Alyra could braid your hair or is there something else you want to tell us?”

“Ummm yes and no! I heard Mummy say the council was looking for Alyra! I don’t want her to go. We just found her! I love her Hunter please don’t let her go”

“Squirt, Alyra is not going anywhere. Pop will fix it and if he can’t, I’ll go to war with the Moon Shine Pack! She’s Ours! Anyone dare tries to take her will die trying”

“I’m In”

We all laughed. Ally was not even 6 years old and she wanted to fight. How did I get this lucky with a family willing to fight for me, not even my parents would fight for me! Which reminds me, I need to ask the Luna about that!

Hunter was staring at me with his head tilted, it’s like he could read my mind.

He linked me “I can read your mind because you said it out loud in our link” oh s**t! I didn’t mean to. I needed to work on how this mind link worked. I kept to myself at my old pack and rarely linked anyone other than Mila.

“Times up Squirt, Alyra can braid your hair after dinner. We need to sort out a few things first” She gave him a frown and then kissed my cheek and skipped out of the room.

We got to the Alphas office and it was full of Hunters family. I was greeting by a mesmerising lady who hugged me. She was a witch, is this the queen? I’m not dressed to meet the Queen. Hunter could tell I was feeling lightheaded and he took my hand and took my feelings away. This was handy! I’ve never been able to get my anxiety under control and now I had Hunter to bring calmness to me.

“Alyra, we have been dying to meet you. I have been watching over you and I must say I’m glad you got out. I’ve been trying to lure you out for quite some time”

“What do you mean?”

“2 weeks ago you were following a doe out near your hiding spot, I almost had you at the border until that Nasty Alpha got your attention and lead you away. I just needed to get you across the border to holoport you back here. I’m afraid I didn’t see you escaping otherwise I would have come to you” Holy crap! It made sense!

“All those animals that captured my attention, it was you?” She smiled and nodded.

“Why were you trying to lure me away?”

“Like my daughter, I am a seer. I saw your future with my grandson but I had a vision of you being marked by that nasty Alpha. I couldn’t let my grandson go through that pain so I’ve been trying to get to you but something has been blocking my visions the past week. I havnt been able to see you. I think they have a witch working with them to make you feel the mate bond with Jack once you turned 18. I’m so happy you got out in time”

Growls filled the room around me. THOSE ASSHOLES!! Oh my, MILA!!!

“Can you get Mila and Jesse? Please they belong here. I need them safe”

A door opened and Mila and Jesse walked in.

“THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!” I was crying and hugging the Queen! I think I startled her but she hugged me back! Mila and Jesse came running and I grabbed them both and couldn’t tear myself away from there. I was a blabbering mess!

“Now that we have everyone here, we need to speak to the council, everyone please take a seat” Alpha Leo turned on his laptop and projected a screen on the wall. There were 7 men on the panel and I’m guessing the man next to the Queen was the eight member, Hunters grandfather.

The meeting had started but I couldn’t focus, I just held onto Mila crying thinking about what could have happened if we didn’t get out of there. My sadness turned into anger, I wanted them all dead and I wanted answers from my so called parents!!

I heard my name and then a heat came over me. I realised that they were talking me and then was asked to explain.

“It’s ok Angel, tell them what happened” Hunter had his hand on my shoulder keeping me level headed.

I began to explain the events of the last few days and then I heard “SHES LYING! THEY TOOK HER FROM ME.SHES MY MATE!” Jack was screaming in the background, they must have had them on the call. Growls filled the room and Hunter roared with anger “YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS JACK! SHE IS NOT YOURS,SHES MINE!”

The Queen ordered for silence and began to speak “you will stand down and let this matter go if you know what’s best for you boy!” The council warned Moon Shine pack to stand down or they will be executed if they pursue.

“Council, I want Alpha Ritchie investigated for the murder of Gina Romira and Sylvia Peters. l suspect they are the cause of their illness”

Why would they think my Aunt Sylvia and Nanny G were murdered? They got sick.

“Wolves do not get sick and die out of the blue. I suspect Evelyn Hannah has something to do with her sister’s death”

“Alyra, wolves just don’t die of sickness, they are right, could Sylvia be your birth Mum? You never mentioned her” “My parents never spoke of her! Just that she died after I was born! OH NO! Mae did you ever feel bonded to my parents wolfs?”

“I felt bonded to your dads wolf but not your mums, she’s a b***h”

The meeting must have finished. I didn’t realise I was crying and wailing loudly, I looked up and everyone’s eyes were on me.

“SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IS GOING ON! IS AUNT SYLVIA MY MOTHER?!!!”

No one said anything and then Hunter put me in his lap and told me to relax. RELAX?! How can I relax? I just heard that Nanny G and my Aunt Sylvia who is most likely my mother, was murdered by my own pack? I’ve been lied to my whole life.

Luna Layla looked at me with a sincere face and said “Darling please calm down. Your Father, David’s m-“

“OH SO MY FATHER IS MY FATHER? WELL AT LEAST THATS TRUE!”

“Yes, he’s your father. He had a child with his mate, your birth Mum and she died 3 days after you were born unexpectedly. They said she had an infection that her wolf couldn’t heal as she was too weak from a traumatic birth, she lost a lot of blood and had to have a transfusion. Which is what I cannot understand, wolves can recover from loss of blood quite quickly and tend not to need a transfusion. They refused Mila’s Mum to heal her as they believed her healing unlawful and unacceptable.”

“EXCUSE ME ?! Mila’s Mum was a healer?” She smiled and turned to Mila

“Your mum was a witch, your pack didn’t accept a witch being mated to a Gamma and had a dark witch conceal her identity and to have a scent of a wolf. Being a first born Mila, you have your fathers blood however Jesse’s is still unclear but we suspect him to have witch blood”

I could see Mila’s face turn from hatred to anger “I’ll kill him for this, Alyra I’m so sorry I didn’t know. Nanny G never spoke to me of her pack or my mum. I didn’t know”

“Miles, it’s not your fault. I think this is why your dad is the way he is with Jesse! I thought it was because she died giving birth! HOLY s**t, did they kill her too?”

Luna Layla had tears in her eyes “No they didn’t, I had a vision the moment she passed. She came to me and told me her children would one day come home and to look after them. It was inevitable, her path was clear and we think she passed on her magic during Jesse’s birth. I’m so sorry Mila, she was my best friend and I couldn’t save her”

I could Tell Mila was thinking and then she composed herself and stood up. I couldn’t work out what she was thinking.

“Luna Layla, thank you for rescuing us, I need some time to process all this and Jesse needs his nap. Can I be shown to my room please?”

A guard came forward and escorted Mila out of the room. All eyes were on me again until Alpha Leo cleared the room.

“Hunter, take Alyra to our cabin for a few days to process this news.

“No, that’s not necessary, I’d like to stay here if that’s ok?”

“Are you sure Angel?” I wrapped myself around Hunter and nodded “I need to be around your family, they make me feel safe. I’ve never felt this protected before”

He carried me back to his room and I fell asleep.
