I sat there just holding Alyra while she cried into my arms. I linked dad “we need to get Mila and Jesse out of Moon Shine before we go to council. They are not safe there”

“Your Mum is onto it. There’s more to those 2 than we knew! They are Chloe Lakers pups. Your mother’s best friend who moved from here 20 years ago to be with her mate. We lost contact when her mate didn’t want her to have nothing to do with her being a witch and having anything to do with us”

“Get them out Dad. I don’t care what it takes, I’ll declare war! They have caused enough heart ache to my mate. They have made her insecure and bullied her. She thought I was going to reject her! I will kill Jack Hyatt!”

“I’ll rip his throat out! He’s mine!” “He’s ours Ray, he won’t get away with this”

Alyra, suddenly burst through the doors to the bathroom. Why was she always feeling sick? I put my hand on her back and withdrew all her feelings and it knocked me hard I lost my balance. Woah!

“Mate has anxiety! She’s overwhelmed” Ray is right, I’ve never felt that when I use my gift on others. It was like my heart burst, my stomach churned and my head spun all on one motion!

Once I regained myself Alyra starting asking questions about my families gifts. She was so focused on what I was saying I couldn’t help but soak in all her beauty. I was falling hard for this girl, my mate. I started feeling her arousal and got interrupted by Ally. I wanted to tell her to piss off, but I couldn’t do that to my little sister. If it was Charlotte I would of told her to f**k off. I watched the two of them talking and Ally told Alyra that she loved her. It’s amazing how much impact she’s already had on all our hearts. She’s going to make an amazing Luna when we take over the pack!

“Son, you better get ready! Mum and Nan have gone to the Moon Shine Pack. They had a plan to discreetly go in and take them”

Oh s**t! What if someone sees them? This might mean war! We made our way to Dads office and standing behind the door was Mila and Jesse! I felt Alyra’s relief and happiness through our bond.

The council meeting had me want to rip through the monitor and kill Jack when he said Alyra was his! The f**k she is! She’s all mine.

I couldn’t believe the s**t I was hearing and then Mum told us what happened with her Mum. All of Alyra’s emotions were crippling me, I put her in my lap to try and calm her down more but she was burning with anger. Dad suggested We get away for a few days but then all her love poured into me when she said she would rather stay here with my family where she feels safe. I cannot wait to officially make her mine when we have our mating ceremony. I need to speak to Charlotte to organise something magical. I picked her up and took her back to my room and held her until she fell asleep.

*** Mila’s POV ***

“GET OUT! I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THIS! I AM YOUR DAUGHTER, HOW COULD YOU LET HIM SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT!” I slammed his door and ran to my room! Alpha Ritchie won’t allow me to go stay with my cousin. They know how Nanny’s death has torn me apart and now my best friend is gone! I need to get away from this hell. I need to get to Alyra, we need another plan. I looked at Jessie and packed our stuff and moved it all into Nanny’s Cottage. Nanny’s scent is still here. I miss her so much I just want her to hug me and tell me everything is going to be ok.

I collapsed on her bed and took in her scent and instantly felt like she was still here. I saw a glow coming from her drawer where her letters were. Jesse starting laughing and clapping telling me to look! What the hell is that? “Have you seen this before Jesse?” He nodded and smiled saying “look,look”

I slowly opened the draw and out flew a letter addressed to me. It started to glow a bright purple and a women’s voice was reading the letter! Am I dreaming?

Dearest Mila,

You are a spitting image of your mother. I’ve been working with your Nanny to bring you and your brother to our pack but unfortunately we were blocked from some dark magic.

We don’t have much time, pack only what’s necessary and put them in this drawer, then speak these words and it will teleport to Black Moon.

“Earth to earth, heart to heart, take my belongings home” Repeat them 3 times.

You have 10 minutes, the Queen and I will come to you shortly.

Be ready my child. Keep the door locked and don’t speak to anyone.

Woah!! That’s the most unbelievable thing I’ve ever seen! Is this for real??? Ok Mila, focus! I quickly grabbed Jesse’s nappy bag and put my letters Nanny wrote me and gathered all her jewellery I didn’t want to leave behind. I put them in the draw and said the words and then they were gone! What the f**k?! I’ve never seen magic, only from what I’ve read in the restricted section in the library and the stories my mother told me.

A mist appeared in the lounge room and I was blinded by the same purple glow and 2 mesmerising women appeared!

“Hello my child, we finally meet” this must be the Queen. She had the most amazing aura and a crown that I could see my own reflection in.

“Look how big you are Jesse, it’s nice to see you again but we must hurry, hold my hand and don’t let go ok?”

She’s met Jesse before? He was jumping with happiness. Maybe this is my out that I needed. We all held hands and we were swallowed by the purple light. When I opened my eyes I had to sit down, I couldn’t focus everything was so blurry and I felt light headed. Jesse looked like he had done this before or he just wasn’t affected by it? His nappy bag was on the table I grabbed it and then I heard voices in the next room, I opened the door and standing there was Alyra! I ran and gave her the biggest hug and couldn’t let go! Is this really happening ? I couldn’t help but notice her holding hands with a perfectly sculptured man who Im pretty sure he is the future Alpha by how big he is. We were going to have a good chat after whatever is going on in this office. There’s so many people in here. The next hour was mind blowing! I just found out my mother was a witch? Those f*****g assholes concealed her identity and she was sworn not to use her magic or tell anyone she was a witch. INCLUDING HER OWN DAUGHTER! My Dad is dead to me! I never want to see him ever again!

They were saying that Jesse might not be a wolf, this all started to make sense. Dads never accepted Jesse as his child, he treated him like he never existed. OH MY GODDESS! Jesse’s always making potions. I thought it was his creative imagination and just liked mixing things. I need to time to process this, my head is killing me and Jesse needs a nap!

I excused myself and asked if I could go to my room. The guard told me this was my mother’s old room and all of her things were still here. I started crying looking at all her ball gowns and there were photos everywhere of me and Jesse. Who put them here?

I settled Jesse to sleep and Luna Layla walked in and hugged me.

“You look exactly like your mother, she would be so proud of you. I hope you don’t mind I kept all her things. We lost contact with her when your mother moved to be with your father but I just couldn’t part with her things. She wasn’t allowed to practice or have any contact with us. She would teleport photos of you and it made me feel close to you both. When Nanny moved to look after you and Jesse, we made the teleport in her cottage so she could send us information and we tried to get you all back to us but there was some dark magic blocking us until she passed away. We think there was a spell cast on her cottage that stopped us from getting in”

She had the most motherly feel to her I couldn’t help but feel at peace. No wonder Alyra has settled in so quickly.

“Thank you for rescuing us. It didn’t feel like home anymore and my father, well he’s dead to me now!”

“Get some rest sweetie, it’s been a big day. We can talk later. Your father will notice your absence soon and we will need to report to council of your whereabouts before he does”

She left and I collapsed on the bed replaying the events from what I can remember and things slowly made sense. All the bedtime stories my Mum told, were true!”
