Jordan’s POV The alarm went off at six sharp. I groaned, hit the snooze button, and lay there staring at the ceiling. Same white ceiling, same silence. Only this morning, something felt off. Victoria wasn’t in bed. Her side was cold. She’d probably gone out for her morning jog, or maybe just couldn’t sleep. Lately, she’d been restless. Always texting, always stepping out to “take calls.” I got up, ran a hand through my hair, and headed for the bathroom. My reflection looked tired … older. “Get it together,” I muttered to myself and turned on the shower. Halfway through shaving, my phone buzzed on the counter. Unknown number.
