Chapter 3

Xiao Zhan secretly looked at the helpless guy in his office for two seconds. His confused and troubled reaction, he found it funny so he smiled while signing the documents.

I will give you what you want. Haha.

Later on, they went to the meeting room. Xiao Zhan did not make it hard for Wang Yibo so he allowed him to only sit beside him quietly.

No one dared to ask Xiao Zhan about the person beside him, who would dare to ask anyway. Even though everybody has a big question mark on their faces about the unknown man in the meeting room.

Wang Yibo on the other hand understood all the matters the people in the room were talking about. If his boss will give him the chance to actually say his thoughts about the matter, he will suggest but he won't simply say a thing, could he?

Soon, the meeting finished and both Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo left the room.

Xiao Zhan looked at his wristwatch, it was already six o'clock. He turned around and commanded Wang Yibo, "Go and take your things. I will wait for you here and we will go to my place together."

After that, he went to his office.

Wang Yibo nailed to the floor and looked at the sky.

What situation is this?

He helplessly turned around and was about to go out when he remembered that he didn't have cash in his hand. His wallet was in the car, also he used to use credit cards when dealing with money matters and the car he rented was left in front of the project site.

How can he go to the hotel now?

Without any choice, he knocked on the office door.

"Come in."

Wang Yibo never felt helpless his whole life but because he came alone to C City, he doesn't have anyone to rely on.

Damn.

He opened the door and said his concern, "Mr. Xiao, I left my wallet in the car in front of the project site, also the car was there because you brought me here using your car. What should I do?"

As if it was my fault, Xiao Zhan thought. He took his phone and was about to dial the company's driver's number when he changed his mind. Then he said, "Alright, wait for me."

When both reached the lobby, they were stopped by the few staff who were about to leave the building but drooled over them instead when they saw them. The staff was so mesmerized by the two good-looking men in front of them!

Xiao Zhan knitted his eyebrows after hearing his staff. He looked at the man beside him who was unable to know what to do. He has no power over the matter.

"All of you, what are you doing just now? Don't you love your job? Or else..."

The people dispersed and disappeared even before Xiao Zhan finished his sentence.

Tss, so annoying.

Why are they looking at him that way?

Both sighed in relief when people left the two of them.

Soon, they reached the car and Xiao Zhan commanded Wang Yibo to sit in the passenger seat. Not long after, they headed to the project site where Wang Yibo left the car. But Xiao Zhan did not let him off, he wanted to make sure that Wang Yibo would go together with him.

"So it means that car wasn't yours, correct?" Xiao Zhan asked.

"Yes. I rented it for three days," Wang Yibo honestly replied.

"Good, now take your wallet and go back to my car. I will accompany you to your place then you take your things. Let me handle this car, hurry up."

Wang Yibo froze.

What did he mean just now? Was he trying to keep me beside him all the time??

He gulped. This is bad.

Now he was unwilling but could not do anything, Wang Yibo went out of the car and took his wallet from the rented car, and went back to Xiao Zhan's car.

"What am I going to do with that car?" he asked.

"Give me the keys. And tell me where you are staying."

After Xiao Zhan took the keys and learned the place, he drove to the hotel. Besides him, Wang Yibo was not comfortable at all. He regretted that he lied. And now he cannot just spill the truth, not that he was afraid of but because Xiao Zhan has a high status in C City and he cannot be reckless now. What if he suddenly turned the table and made him a bad guy? He cannot compromise his own status, can he?

Sigh.

"Please wait for me here, Mr. Xiao," Wang Yibo said and hurriedly left the car upon reaching the cheap hotel he rented earlier even before Xiao Zhan could say a word. He was very thankful that he rented another hotel. Tsk tsk.

Xiao Zhan followed his gaze to the man who entered the hotel. Until now, he could not figure out his motive. He dialed a number on his phone, soon the call connected.

"Send me current details about CEO Wang Yibo of B City. Give me an answer as soon as possible." Then Xiao Zhan hung up the phone without giving any chance for Zu Zhan to reply. He took a stick of a cigarette then opened the window at his side. He smoked while waiting for his 'secretary'.

Zu Zhan on the other side was taken aback. He thought that refusing his boss was not an option. But somehow he was very curious about why his boss wanted to know about WANYIE Group's CEO whereabouts. Now, even he got curious.

Seeing Wang Yibo come back from the hotel, Xiao Zhan narrowed his gaze and looked at the man walking to the car. Now he could see him clearly without him noticing it. He was very satisfied with his looks, really pleasant to the eyes. And he could not take away his gaze.

Damnit.

This man. I like him so much.

However, Wang Yibo was in a daze. He wasn't afraid but he felt some kind of nervousness inside of him. Too many things occupying his mind. He doesn't want to fool Xiao Zhan anymore.

What should I do?

"What are you waiting for?" Xiao Zhan asked the dazed man. "Hurry up and get inside. It's getting cold outside."

Wang Yibo immediately came back to his senses and did what was told.

The night was long.

Wang Yibo carefully followed Xiao Zhan who removed his shoes and entered the wide bachelor's pad house. So he also removed his shoes before entering the house.

"Is this your residence?"

"Yes. This is one of my residences in the City. I also have a villa but there's no reason to live in a very big house. I prefer living alone here," Xiao Zhan explained with a proud smile.

The interior decorations were all neat and classy. With the touch of unique and very high-quality products. Glass walls were all over the place, and high technology gadgets were all in their designated places. Actually, all the details of the house from exterior to interior designs were his choices.

"You have good taste," Wang Yibo cannot hide the admiration in his voice.

"Did you like the designs?" Xiao Zhan carefully asked. He sat on the soft couch in the living room and gestured to Wang Yibo to sit and feel comfortable.

Wang Yibo sat down but was confused.

Why is this man treating me so kindly?

Wasn't I am only a secretary?

"Yes. But I'm wondering, Mr. Xiao. Do you often treat your staff so well?" Wang Yibo cannot help but question his curiosity.

Xiao Zhan smiled and replied, "I feel comfortable with you so I'm treating you well." Emphasizing the word 'you' to make Wang Yibo understand that he only meant him and him alone. He stood up and walked to his room but stopped before opening the door, looked at Wang Yibo intensely, and said in a low voice, "Be my companion. I'm lonely." Then he entered the room to take a bath and to change his clothes.

Xiao Zhan's husky voice did not escape Wang Yibo's ears. His heart suddenly jumped off his chest. He swallowed hard.

What is this feeling?

Why does the house suddenly feel very hot?

Wang Yibo stood up with trembling knees and walked to the balcony. He looked at the moon in the sky for a few minutes then he took out his phone and called his girlfriend. He needed someone to ease the uneasiness inside of him.

"Hi honey, how are you?" he asked right after the call connected.

"Hon! Where are you?! I went to your office but no one knows where you are. I cannot contact you the whole day!" Tin Veeh's angry voice roared from the other side of the phone.

Wang Yibo immediately pulled away from the phone from his ears or he will be deaf.

"I have some important matters to do. I'm away for a few days so don't look for me. I'm not in the city. I called to let you know that I'm fine. I'll hang up now, take care, Honey. Bye."

He ended the call immediately.

Sigh. Wrong move.

If not because of the arranged marriage their parents have planned for them since he was young, he would never like to marry her. It's not that she was undesirable but he simply didn't like her as a partner. Marriage was a sacred union of two people, for him, he wanted to be with the person he loved for the rest of his life. Not because of an arranged marriage. He wanted to feel how to love and be loved, even though he was a CEO, in his heart, he dreamed of a happy married life.

"Are you scared of me?" Xiao Zhan found Wang Yibo on the balcony after he changed his clothes. Seeing him so helpless, he felt guilty.

"Why should I? Are you a devil?"

"Haha, do I look like one? Look at me," Xiao Zhan demanded.

Wang Yibo turned around and looked at the man not far away from him. Wearing a pair of black silk pajamas while wiping a towel on his wet hair. He blinked many times and his throat went dry.

This man! What is he doing to my senses?!

"I wanted to rest if you may," Wang Yibo politely said, trying his best to keep calm.

"I already told you, I need a companion." Xiao Zhan pointed to the door beside his room and continued, "Use that room, do your thing and come back here. Let's have some drinks. You aren't going to refuse me, don't you?"

Could I refuse? Wang Yibo thought, then he squinted his eyes and looked at Xiao Zhan carefully. He had something in his mind but he refused to say it so he went to the room instead and brought his things. Once in the room, he felt conflicted although the room was quite comfortable because it was manly and very neat, his heart was in a mess.

Following his gaze at Wang Yibo's back entering the room, Xiao Zhan grinned. He really liked him a lot.

He looked at the sky and wondered why he was feeling that way. It was the first time he felt so interested in a man. Never in his entire life had he felt that kind of affection, even towards his girlfriend.

Am I abnormal?

Remembering Wang Yibo's face, Xiao Zhan could not help but smile broadly.

What should I do to ease this curiosity?

When his stomach growled, he ordered food from the restaurant and went to the kitchen to prepare the drinks. He just wanted to drink a bit and have some talk with Wang Yibo. Nothing more.

Also, he wanted Wang Yibo to confess the truth about himself.

Thirty minutes later, the delivery food arrived, just in time when Wang Yibo left his room.

"Let's eat. Come here."

Xiao Zhan called Wang Yibo as soon as he saw him walking out of his room. He was wearing black shorts and a white t-shirt. No air of arrogance nor elegance in his outfit, very simple and homely. His messy damped hair increases his charisma.

He looked away immediately and pretended on preparing the table. His heartbeat was beating fast.

Initially, he wanted to drink but his mind suddenly changed so Xiao Zhan said, "Let's eat so we can take a rest afterward," with a trembling voice and not daring to look at Wang Yibo's blue eyes.

Wang Yibo was confused.

What happened?

His eyebrows knitted and looked at Xiao Zhan, puzzled so he asked, "I thought we were going to drink. What happened? And why are you not looking at me?"

Wang Yibo pulled a chair and sat, perhaps he forgot that he was not the boss there so he asked Xiao Zhan casually.

When their eyes met, Wang Yibo blushed and remembered who he was at that time. He blinked and bit his lower lip, unable to hide his shy smile so he looked down and said softly, "Sorry."

Damn.

Xiao Zhan was taken aback, it was the first time he saw Wang Yibo smile.

Holy s**t. He is so handsome.

Subconsciously, he put rice and steamed broccoli and meat on Wang Yibo's plate, also poured a glass of water before he sat down on the opposite chair. It was after a while that he realized what he had done.

Bullshit.

My IQ dropped in front of this man.

An awkward silence followed. No one dared to speak nor look at each other.

Only the sound of the utensils could be heard occasionally.

What happened?

Weird.

Both of them were wandering and having messy minds.

In Wang Yibo's mind, he ridiculed Xiao Zhan's actions. However, he admitted that he liked it seeing him blushed profusely. His red ears were so damn cute. He could not stop stealing glances at him.

On the other hand, Xiao Zhan was very ashamed and kept on scolding himself for doing so. What the hell happened to me? His entire body was burning in shame and he wanted to dig a hole to hide.
