Crystal Golem Uniqueness

Brandon retreated to a quiet corner of the courtyard, settling into meditation to replenish his depleted mana, he understood the importance of regaining strength for the next round, especially after Alec made it clear the sparring would continue without pause, Alec watched do this before giving out a nod of approval. Arthur, on the other hand, looked like he was about to be sick, it was unsettling for him to watch Alec act so calm and mature, especially since they were the same age. “Begin,” Alec commanded. And like that the golems surged forward. Surprisingly, the six-armed one hesitated and backed away, but the other, the one with a glowing power crystal embedded in its chest, advanced gracefully toward Arthur. “Oh great, just one? Easy peasy,” Arthur said confidently. He quickly summoned his familiar spell, as ten sharp stone bullets spiralled upward and darted toward the golem, however to his dismay, the golem raised a hand, conjuring a golden shield that effortlessly blocked the entire barrage. “Damn it! How is that fair? That’s cheating,” Arthur grumbled, watching the stones clang uselessly against the shimmering barrier, leaving only faint dents, still the golem marched on undeterred. The crystal on its chest pulsed, glowing with a brilliant golden light, Arthur could tell its hue was beginning to dim, which means something else was coming, but he didn’t know what. Reacting on instinct, Arthur summoned a metal shield rather than his usual earth-based defence, the golem’s elegant use of metal manipulation to create a shield had reminded him to stop ignoring his second element, he knew two earth element defensive spells and earth walls drained too much mana, while earth shields were too heavy and slow at the pace the battle was heading. But even as he felt proud of his quick thinking, Arthur’s eyes widened as five golden metal blades materialized in the air, aimed straight at him with pinpoint precision. “You’ve got to be kidding me! How is this even an unclassified golem? That’s a Tier 1 magical spell!” he shouted in disbelief, attempting to dodge. But it was pointless, the blades closed in and just as they seemed to pierce his skin, they vanished into harmless particles of light, Arthur blinked in confusion, stunned. Nothing had happened to him, the golem’s control scared the s**t out of him. “Don’t worry, I made sure they wouldn’t actually harm you, the moment it thought it had won, it stopped its attack,” Alec explained calmly. “What the hell was that? It just used a Tier 1 spell!” Arthur snapped, both confused and irritated. “I infused that golem with a power crystal from a Tier 1 beast that had metal-elemental properties. It was a gift from the old man,” Alec replied. “You do realize that ‘old man’ happens to be your grandfather—the patriarch of the entire clan, right?” Arthur said, raising an eyebrow. “Yeah, well… he has his ways,” Alec replied with a chuckle. Before Arthur could fully recover from the last encounter, the six-handed golem moving into position caught Alec’s attention, it reached behind its back, retrieving the hidden earth blades and handing them to its four front-facing arms. Then, with a low growl and glowing red eyes, it pointed the blades at Arthur and let out a mechanical roar. “Oh, I am so screwed,” Arthur muttered, steeling himself. “Earth Spear.” “Earth Spear.” “Earth Spear.” “Earth Spear.” Arthur hurled a relentless barrage of earth spears at the approaching golem, his hands blazing with mana, however the golem simply met each attack head-on, deflecting the spears with synchronized slashes from all four arms as if they were mere twigs. “Gah! I’m not done yet!” Arthur shouted, his resolve burning brighter. He condensed his mana into two glowing metal gauntlets and dashed forward with explosive speed, his fist shot out, aiming straight for the golem’s core, but the golem twisted, dodging with unnatural agility, and retaliated with a s***h from one of its rear arms. “Damn you!” Arthur growled, catching the sword with his left hand, locking it in place. With a powerful punch, he struck the arm wielding the blade, managing to knock the sword free, but before he could take another breath, five more blades were already pressed against his neck. “You… los… e,” Legion said, his eerie laughter gone, replaced with cold finality. Alec raised a brow turning towards Legion. “Did you make them attack him one at a time?” he asked. “Yes… si… re,” Legion replied, bowing slightly. “I observed… they were stronger than… him. They wouldn’t awaken their potential… if they attacked all at once.” Alec felt a sense of relief that the golems hadn’t attacked Arthur simultaneously. If they had, it would’ve crushed his confidence entirely, especially considering how each golem had already overwhelmed him alone. A joint assault would’ve been overkill. “Why don’t you go over there and meditate with Brandon? Once your mana’s full again, you can have another round,” Alec suggested casually. “What?!” Arthur groaned, hoping for a longer break. “Practice makes perfect. You’ve improved, even if it’s hard for you to notice. I’m just helping push you closer to your goal,” Alec said, his tone sincere—too sincere. “Why does this feel like a scam?” Arthur muttered under his breath, his instincts flaring. The truth was, Alec did have hidden motives. Brandon and Arthur were both being steered like pawns in a deeper plan, and the fact was that the six-armed golem and the crystal golem hadn’t pushed far enough in their battle against Arthur, so nothing had truly awakened within them yet, the battles had been won too easily. But Alec’s words weren’t entirely dishonest. Arthur was indeed close to a breakthrough. [Gordon Arthur] Level: Low-tier One (85/100 to next realm) Race: Human Battle Power: 80 Affinity: Earth (Mid), Metal (High) [Specialized Skills] □ Stone Bullet (Level 5) □ Earth Compression (Level 2) □ Earth Spear (Level 2) □ Metal Manipulation (Level 2) □ Metal Sword (Level 1) □ Metal Gloves (Level 1) Alec felt a blend of surprise and pride as he reviewed Arthur’s growing list of skills, the recent addition of Metal Gloves showed clear progress. Even more impressive, Arthur had developed these abilities on his own, without help from skill books or clan guidance. “Just a little push more, and you’ll break into a new realm,” Alec whispered with quiet determination as he glanced at his siblings meditating beneath the shade of a nearby tree. With renewed focus, Alec turned toward his newly reforged golems, eager to inspect their stats and assess their next stage of growth.
