PROLOGUE

I never imagined that a place as quiet and remote as Biliran Island could trap me in a story I didn’t want to live. Yet here I am—standing at the edge of the world I thought I knew, watching the waves crash against jagged rocks, and feeling the weight of every choice I ever made.

My name is Harris Mondragon. I’m not a hero, not a poet, not even particularly brave. I’m just a guy from a small island, stubborn enough to believe that some things are worth fighting for—love, truth, and maybe, just maybe, a second chance.

This island is my home, but it’s also the place where I met him—Elian. The boy I thought I hated, the boy who changed everything.

Our story isn’t simple. It’s messy, filled with grudges, misunderstandings, and moments that tore at the seams of everything I thought I knew about myself. It’s about how enemies became lovers, how fear turned to trust, and how, sometimes, the hardest battles are fought inside the heart.
