“Uncle Rayne, the Council Members. They made it to the palace. We made sure she got here safely.” Max says to me, gesturing to the girl controlling the hawks. “Okay, boys, stay with Nix and Lottie. Keep safe. Get to Caren. I will take care of them.” I yelled at my nephews while grabbing a long dagger from the ground. They will be safest with them. I know that for a fact.
I had to stop multiple times on my way to the palace doors. Sometimes, I had to act to prevent my men from being killed. Sometimes, I had to fight for my life against men attacking me.
