THE AUTHORITY’S IDENTITY The following day, after work, Aaron rushed home. He wanted to think about what Amber had said the previous night. She had said that he might have been connected to these lands, and that’s why The Authority chose him, out of all the other children from the foster care. He didn’t know how he was any special than the rest. Was it because he was smarter, and The Authority felt like he would be better off here so he could progress? Was it because he was the bully in the foster care? None of these seemed quite right to him.
