10 years later
I admired the blade in my hand. My palm is gripping its handle while the tip of my blade reflects the light from the giant bulb hanging above me. I was in the target room. Not only does this place contain the metal targets, and the dummies that we made, this is where I sharpen all the blades of our knives and daggers. I like to keep a certain level of sharpness, where I check each and every blade is sharp enough to slice through paper or it can pass through the body. Once the blade has achieved my desired sharpness. I threw it towards the red and white target.
I smirked. Right through the middle. Taking some more daggers that were freshly cleaned, this was the exciting part. My exciting part. Standing in front of ten targets, some were in line, some were hidden on the sides and some were moving behind a pillar. I closed my eyes and counted to ten.
Opening my eyes again, it felt like activating something inside of me, pulling my hand aiming to throw four daggers that I fit snugly between my fingers, and swiped my hand across those targets, leaving the daggers flying towards the bullseye.
I turned around and threw the other daggers in my other hand towards the rest of the metal targets. Crouching down to take the small daggers hidden in my leg and throwing the small piece across the room and through the ones that were hiding behind the pillars. I stood up and admired my work. A silent satisfaction burned inside me.
“Damn, what a throw.” East, the youngest among us brothers... living youngest, whistled and took one of my blades that was resting on the table and threw it at the target. It landed a bit to the right, close to where I threw mine first.
“I’m getting there.” I shook my head and chuckled. East then grabbed another and threw it again, but this time it fell to the floor after it hit the target. Turning around to look at him, I raised an eyebrow at him.
“You’ve been saying that for years.” Walking closer to the metal targets to retrieve the knives, I felt more pride swelling inside of me when I saw how deep my blade went in.
Straight through the heart.
“If you paid more attention to your training, then you would've killed that dummy over there." I pointed to the thinnest doll that we made to imitate our victims.
North wanted real people, but it was such a hassle to keep them here leaking their blood. The idea was exciting though.
“Geez South. The two of you have been pressuring me to do well with both guns and knives. You know how different it is to aim with a gun than to aim with a knife.” East had been training with both, but as time went by he preferred the guns more than the knives, like North did.
My love for knives never wavered all throughout the years. I enjoyed how it makes my hand feel invincible while holding the blade. The feel of the skin ripping through at the tip of my blade as I slice through. The power within my reach.
“You know how North is with me. He wouldn't shut up about training. I just figured if I practiced with the gun first, that would make him... less him. I wonder how he does it. Seriously, that man freezes time."
Every day, North has been egging East into doing his training with his aim. North and I have mastered our aim at a very young age under different circumstances. East had been lucky with how he was brought up in this world . East had his own hobby. Computers. We supported him in everything, but we had to make sure he knew how to protect himself.
“North has been asking for you.” Stopping myself before grabbing another knife. “He said it was serious.”
I looked at him and he just shrugged his shoulders. East was never included in our discussions regarding the mafia. We asked our made-men to talk with us within closed doors. Never disclose anything in public. The fewer ears, the better. We wanted to keep him out of it so he would not be used. If we could smell fear and lies, our enemies could do the same in time. They would know everything and it would be his turn to run things, but for now we sought peace in the dark.
I dropped all the knives that were gathered onto the table. “You work on your aim with knives today.”East replied with a mock of salute. I shook my head knowing what's to come. He’s not going to train for long. I reached the door and noticed the man guarding the room. He stiffened and acknowledged me “sir” I nodded and made my way to the office.
…
“Who agreed to this?” I calmly asked despite my anger flaring through me.
“It was our beloved uncle.” North swirled his whiskey in his glass while he looked at the table, thinking. Contemplating.
North, our eldest, shocks me to the very core about the news. I thought it would be expanding our territories or problems with the deliveries or there had been an invasion. What I had not been expecting was this, an arranged marriage.
“Why not you? Since when do we go astray from traditions? You were supposed to get married first.” I looked at him with my jaw clenched. North tapped his forefinger on his glass. He was not speaking but I could hear his thoughts.
Something’s off.
I stood up and turned towards his window, which showed the view of the land. I searched for comfort among the trees, the grass, and the mountains. The f*****g damn nature!
North must have heard my thoughts as he suddenly slammed his glass down on his table. “Do you trust me?” he spoke dangerously low.
“With my life” I answered with no hesitation.
“Then you go marry Jabbar’s daughter,” he said in a low tone.“Then we'll find out what our dearest uncle has been up to.”
Never in my years had I ever planned on settling down or being tied up to a woman this early.
“You know how the forefathers are.” They consist of five men who are the oldest of the Griffin clan, they are expected to hold peace, ordinance, making sure that the empire is still running through the very reason it was built in the first place. The clan has been living and carrying on with traditions for centuries. They believed this kept us going.
North continued to twirl his glass and watches his drink go around and around.
“And if I refuse?” I heard him stand up from his chair. His heavy footsteps were getting close, stopping by beside me as we looked at the land.
“Then there will be consequences. I need you to keep your guard up. The forefathers are hard to break but we will figure this out, like we always do.” he took a sip of his drink. I looked for the opened bottle and brought the top to my lips. I groaned as I felt the burning liquid down my throat.
I took a deep breath and nodded. Agreeing to whatever is happening.I don’t have a choice. None of us do. There are sacrifices that need to be made. I didn't want to endanger East because of my choices.
“All you have to do is say your is uphold your end of the bargain” I snort. Easier said than done. “At least until we get to the bottom of this.
Having different affairs everytime felt adventourous and safe. No strings attached, no explanation, and no committments, Just to shut up and let me f**k you. But having an affair while being committed to a woman, that would tarnish my name. I hate being talked behind my back but I also hate to be tied down. What the f**k did my uncle think he is doing?
“I don’t want to lose another brother, South.” North mutters very lowly almost quietly breaks my thoughts.
“We won’t,” Saying it with a promise and understanding his struggle. North is doing everything to protect me and East. I do my part in protecting what's left of my family as well.
“It’s settled then.” North patted my back, sat back again in his chair and took out his phone. “I'll set up a meeting with them tomorrow and you get married at the end of the week.” Shaking my head at the information North has been throwing me ,the wedding will take place three days from now.
"Why are we rushing?" Normally, anger is the last thing that I feel. Rushing this feels like we are falling right into the hands of our uncle. I wanted to wait, to think, to investigate.
“I told you we will figure this out. I just need you to play the part for now.”
“Which I already agreed to, North. I will keep up with this charade but I will see her at the wedding. Who knows what I could do when I see the man our uncle made a deal with” I knew Jabbar and his family but I didn’t care enough to remember what they looked like except the ball of sunshine who I happened to meet ten years ago.
Whatever our uncle is planning, he made his move. Jabbar is more like a pawn to his game.
“Very well then. Go ahead and do what you must.”North muttered and waved me off. What he subtly meant go f**k whoever you want to f**k. And I do just that.
…
The bar was in full swing by the time I was in the mood to let off some steam. I lost count on how many shots of whiskey I drank. It still was not enough. Seating in the VIP section at the upper floor looking down at the chaos happening below me. The music was blaring off through the speakers, bodies sway to the beat of the music, gyrating, humping and many of the others.
“Darling. Rough night?” the waitress placed more drinks in front of me and put her long fingers with her long fake nails on my thigh. The alcohol and my anger towards one man made me forget the w***e beside me but not the woman I am tied for the next who f*****g knows.
I slapped her hand away, annoyed at being touched and grabbed the back of her head. “Less talking, more sucking” I pulled her hair more, making her head tip back and I looked into her eyes. Empty. Just like the rest of them.
She smirked showing me her white teeth bordered with her bright red lipstick “Yes sir.” I growled.
The harder I gripped her hair, the more she was turned on. She does my zipper and pulled my pants just enough for my c**k to be free The place was too dark for anyone to see, for anyone to care. I don’t give a s**t either if someone dares to look. The guards who stand posts outside kept their back on me. The woman suddenly kisses the tip and then swallows me whole.
Leaned my head back towards the couch while the woman bobs her head to my length “Fuck.” I muttered and she continued to suck me until I started shooting my load towards her throat. She gags on my c**k as I gripped on her hair to keep her there.
“Swallow every single drop.” Demanding through my gritted teeth. Tears were streaming down her eyes along with her mascara but I didn't give a damn.
“So this is where you run off to?” East enters the room not bothering at the sight, my c**k is still in her mouth and being sucked. It was ready for another round.
“f**k off.” he just chuckled and drank one of the shots that was in front of me. “You better not be wasted on the wedding.” The woman startws to bob her head on my d**k again, while she massages my sacs beneath.
I moaned loudly as the last of my c*m spilled from me. I pulled out from her mouth and tucked myself back in.
Telling the woman to leave. “Have a good night South.” She mutters and leaving with North to drag me back to reality.
“I’ll definitely have a good f*****g night.” Replying with sarcasm East didn't bother commenting but choosing to drink the night away with me.
