A Tale of Two Hearts

Chapter 3

It was night time, a door opened and a young boy walked out, he stared at the other room at the other end and hesitated before walking down and knocking on it.

“Knock, knock”

“Hey, James it is me, I wanted to tell you that dinner is ready and it seems Dad won’t be having meals in the dinner, I am off to go have my meal, I was wondering if you would like to come let us eat, but if you do not feel I could let the maids bring your meal to your room.” Jeremy said.

He waited a few seconds before turning to move when the door opened.

“Creak”

“You shouldn’t always rush off, I am coming, I was dressing up.” James said as he let out a smile while walking to catch up to Jeremy.

“James wore a nice short with a plain shirt, his curly black hair waved, obviously he had taken his shower not long ago, right now he had a charm that both Alex and Jeremy lacked, that facial expression was definitely a lady killer.

“Hey, it is just a meal, why looking so…. attractive, you shouldn’t be thinking of seducing the maids right?” Jeremy looked at James and asked oddly.

“Huh, I just took a shower and wore a pair of shorts and a t shirt, what is with seducing anyone, I am just in a good mood.” James replied.

“Try not to smile too much at the maids, you might cause a scandal, hate to say but you look really top grade play boy right now.” Jeremy rolled his eyes and spoke while they walked.

“What the hell?”

“I am just looking unkept and you’re saying I’m going to cause a scandal, I know I’m attractive but it should not be at this level right?” James asked.

“Huh, who told you you’re attractive this is just an after bath effect it would wear off soon, narcissistic asshole.” Jeremy grumbled a bit seeming petty.

“Huh, Haha, what you’re jealous, don’t worry little brother I would let you shine in college so as not to steal your ladies.” James laughed as they went to get their meals.

“Hey, Jay I’m sorry for earlier I don’t know what to say, I looked at it too simply and blamed you, I hope you can..”

“Mehh, sheesh, don’t say anymore the workers would think I’m close minded, besides why sound so serious, ugh, you need to know I understood your point and I am not angry at it either. James said cutting him off.

“Oi, I wasn’t even done talking and you cut me off, I could peel of your tongue for that.” Jeremy said in fake anger.

“Mehh, try it, I don’t think you can beat me in a fight, let me tell you I have been fighting in the street since 3rd grade.” James said in a proud look.

“I can go and register as a UFC fighter wih my current skills.” he continued.

“Tch, go on and register then alright let us eat before the food get cold.” Jeremy said as they both sat down and started to eat.

After a few minutes in the meal, eating and bantering.

“Hey, Jay my best friend is coming tomorrow, just telling you, I had told her about you already so she is waiting to meet you.” Jeremy said.

“Oh, alright then, but I have a workout routine so it shouldn’t be too early.” James said.

“Tch, like I can tell her what time to come here, Dad knows her, everyone in this mansion knows her well, she is basically like Dad’s daughter. Anyways, just make sure not to be naked, aside Dad’s room she can go anywhere else, basically she has lived here for a month.” Jeremy said.

‘Dumbfounded, shock.’

“Huh?!!!”

“She can basically go anywhere?!”

“Is she like an adopted daughter or so?” James threw a series of question without stopping.

“Well, nahh, just my best friend, but anyways she is the only girl that dad allows into the house tho, that is outside his permission, everyone else has to be permitted.” Jeremy replied.

“Oh, Dad got you a phone, a laptop and other things, he said you loved tech so he planned your room to have another room in it. He has never opened it before so I haven’t been in it.” He continued.

“Well, I think I would need to go greet Dad after this meal, you should come as well, that will definitely make him feel better.” James replied.

And like that they continued their meal talking, laughing and many more.

They got done with their dinner and went to get James new stuff.

“Oi, you got a phone now, you’d need to get a few numbers, so tomorrow we would go out to do some shopping for clothes and all, get to make new friends as well, your looks can grant you a few girls as well.” Jeremy said while emphasizing on the last part of the sentence.

“Ugh, let’s leave the girl talk for later, I have never had time for social relationships for a long time now.” James said.

“Anyways, I have a few contacts to reach out to back on the other end.” He continued.

They both checked the stuffs and talked for a few minutes before heading to their dad’s room.

Alex sat in his room on a sofa and stared at a photo, in the photo there was a young man and a beautiful lady both of them held two babies in their arms smiling.

Knock, knock.

“Hey Dad, it is me and James, can we come in?” Jeremy’s voice sounded.

“Come in.” Alex’s voice came from behind the door.

The boys walked in and got into the room, James was stunned, their fathers’ room was unlike what he thought it would be like, it did not have the excess fancy design and chandeliers, just a coffee brown and cream double paintings, a very wide room with a big king sized bed, table lamps and a big shelf, on the shelf hung lots of pictures.

James had always thought that their Dad’s room would be exotic and all but the simple vibe it gave was completely out of expectations. It was like this room did not even belong in the mansions in the first place.

‘Here I thought my Dad loves luxurious living’ Alex thought to himself.

“Dad, I am sorry for the way I behaved earlier, and I was wrong to hate James for everything. Dad please forgive me.” Jeremy said with his head lowered a bit, looking remorseful about his actions.

“It is fine Jer, as long as you no longer blame your brother it is fine.” Alex smiled as he said.

Jeremy had always acted like a child in front of Alex, while when he was younger he had always seen James as a kind of big brother figure so him showing this expression was also rare but not too surprising.

“Yeah, Dad Alice is coming over tomorrow, and I would like me, her and James would go out shopping.” Jeremy said.

“Ah, her dad told me, alright then, you all should have fun.” Alex said.

“James hold on, I want to talk to you about something.” Alex said.

“Alright, goodnight Jer, I’d head to bed from there tomorrow we’d go out and get to meet this Alice.” James said.

Jeremy left the room leaving James and their Dad.

“James, I have a request for you, I know you hate your mother so much as to how she treated you, but do not forget she is your mother an also for my sake please do not hate her. I know this is too much but, I still love your mother, I know you must hate her a lot but just do this for me, and please help me speak to your brother, that is all.” Alex spilled right away without turning his words.

James was struck in shock, he wanted to retort but looking at his father’s pleading expression it was just too difficult for him to do so. In the end he gave in and just nodded before saying.

“I understand you love your wife dad, but she has never been a mother to me in this life yet, as for Jeremy it would be tougher to convince but I would try.” James said as he walked out of the room.

James went straight to his room and went to bed, the day had too much of stress built up on him.

The next morning.

“Hey Jer, you better come out and show me your twin brother, I want to see if he is as ugly as you.” A feminine voice rang out.

It was already late morning and the visitor had barged in as expected.

“Go check on his room, I am going to take a shower.” Jeremy said.

Alice walked to the next room and knocked but there was no reply after two minutes so she just turned the door and barged in.

The sight before her stunned her, a well bodied young male with an imaginary fantasy male physique was doing stretches with his ears blocked by a music player.

Alice saw the half naked young male while the male stood in shock, both of them stared at each other for a few seconds before Alice ran out of the room, with her face looking rosier than usual.
