Chapter 4

Maybe it was Lei Zoe's voice that had a soothing effect because Yan Jane stopped struggling and became quiet for a minute. Jun Mo took advantage of this and gave Yan Jane the injection.

"In a while, the medicine will soon disappear from her system. She just has to sleep it off and get some rest. Nothing will happen. Don't worry."

Zoe looked at Yan Jane and gently wiped the sweat on her forehead. She nodded. "Okay, thank you."

Jun Mo snorted, "I have been treating you for years now, but this is the first time I have heard you say thank you. Because of this

woman, are you thankful to me? Don't tell me you like her?"

Lei Zoe looked at the woman on the bed and ignored Jun Mo. Seeing that Lei Zoe wouldn't talk, Jun Mo sighed, patted Lei Zao's shoulder, and left.

After Jun Mo left, Lei Zoe went to the window and fell into deep thought. She picked up her phone and made a call. A few minutes later, Ye Xing appeared with a tablet containing Yan Jane's information.

"Boss, the Yan family were the people who cleared the whereabouts of Miss at the club last time," Ye Xing said as he gave the tablet to Lei Zoe.

"Hm," Lei Zoe said as she looked at the tablet.

A glint of light passed through her eyes, reading the woman's information on the tablet. She turned the information page by page and twisted her brows. After a while, she knew a bit about her.

Yan Jane was the daughter of the young Miss of the Yan family who disappeared some years ago. She created her own jewelry company from scratch, which is now the number one leading jewelry company in the country now. She did not fight for the rights to Yan Cooperation and left it for her uncle to handle. Her past life experience was utterly blank. Like she never existed at all those years. The only information that Zoe had is from three years ago when she came to the Yan family.

Zoe frowned. 'Who is she that her network can't even find anything about her twenty-three years of existence? What secrets is she hiding?'

She turned to look at the girl who was now peacefully asleep because of the medicine Jun Mo gave her. She sighed faintly. She couldn't help but feel distressed. For a woman to become this cold and indifferent. She couldn't imagine what she had gone through. Also, it is difficult to start a business from scratch and get to where she was in less than three years. Zoe couldn't imagine what she would have experienced if she didn't help her tonight. For the first time, Zoe had the desire to protect someone and make her happy. Unbeknownst to Zoe, the woman in the bed was no damsel in distress. Zoe wondered how she would look if she smiled. She remembered that closed-mouth smile she gave him at the club. She looked so beautiful.

Ye Xing stood beside Lei Zoe respectfully. He didn't know what Lei Zoe wanted to do with Miss Yan. Just as he was in a daze, Lei Zoe mumbled, "Okay. You can go now."

"Okay, boss."

Lei Zoe looked at her watch and saw that it was a quarter past three o'clock in the morning. She was tired. Lei Zoe squeezed her eyebrows together and watched Yan Jane sleeping in her bed and sighed helplessly. There was only one bed in the suite, and Zoe was so tired that she laid down on the other side of the bed.

In the morning, Yan Jane woke up and saw that she was leaning on a person like an octopus. She looked at the person, saw her charming face, and she froze. She hurriedly moved the quilt to get down, but because her actions were fast, it woke up Lei Zoe.

When Jane saw that the person had opened her eyes, she swallowed nervously. Lei Zoe looked at Yan Jane, and a smug grin appeared on her face.

She pulled Yan Jane back into her arms and hissed, "You want to escape?"

The woman's intoxicating voice made Yan Jane stiffen.

"You... who are you?" Yan Jane looked uncomfortable with her posture towards this stranger and told herself to be rational and calm. She wasn't the naive girl that she used to be. She did not understand how she got here.

"Why am I here? We... did we..."

Because she was too nervous, she stuttered, and her words became incoherent. Lei Zoe's charming eyes flashed with a smile. She raised her fingers and gently placed them on Jane's lips. Her fingers slowly traced the shape of her lips.

Jane's head exploded. Even though this wasn't the first time she had been close to someone, her head became blank. She didn't know what was happening to her. She just thought the woman in front of her was so beautiful. No, she was a seducer! The beauty of woman can inadvertently move the mind. Yan Jane knew deeply that such a gorgeous woman was poisonous.

Lei Zoe bowed her head and whispered in Jane's ear.

"This... don't make a sound. Think about how hard I worked last time."

Lei Zoe's charming voice sounded in her ears. Zoe's fiery breath brushed her ears and neck, arousing a series of feelings she had buried. This feeling was both familiar and unfamiliar to her, making her body tremble. Her face was filled with helplessness. She didn't know such a look could unconsciously make people want to tease her.

Lei Zoe's eyes were a little complicated. She tried to control the burning desire in her body and clasped Yan Jane's waist.

Yan Jane couldn't help but think about what happened last night. She suddenly remembered what had happened, and she wanted to find a hole to hide in right now.

She couldn't believe that she had shamelessly asked a stranger to sleep with her.

"Sorry... I'm sorry... I didn't mean it," Yan Jane said embarrassingly.

Lei Zoe smirked, "Can sorry solve everything?"

Yan Jane wanted to disappear right now. Even though she was strong on the surface, she was still ignorant of these kinds of stuff. She had never had a one-night stand before, so she didn't know how to behave. She pushed her head into Lei Zoe's arms, trying to bury herself.

"I don't know how to compensate you."

Looking at the girl in her arms, Lei Zoe smiled gently with a hint of warmth in her eyes. She patted her head gently.

"It was the first time a woman made me... cough..." Lei Zoe could not finish her sentence because she coughed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to take advantage of you. Thank you for saving me last night."

Lei Zoe sighed, "Aren't you going to compensate me? I paid a lot to save you. That man was scary. Who is he?"

An icy light flashed through Jane's eyes when she heard Lei Zoe.

"Don't worry. He won't bother you, but I... I don't know how to compensate you. Is there anything you'd like? As long as it's legal, I will do it for you," Yan Jane said as she frowned. She didn't know how to compensate for this woman. She thought this was the best solution.

"I want nothing. Just take responsibility for what happened last night," Lei Zoe said faintly.

"What?" Yan Jane thought she heard her wrong.

"Why, are you regretting what you said? I am your life-saving benefactor. You promise that as long as I like something which is legal, you will fulfill it. Isn't this the most legal thing to ask for? Or... is it that you don't want to be responsible? Lei Zoe smirked.

"How do you want me to be responsible?" Yan Jane said as she looked at the girl in front of her. She doesn't even know her name yet.

"Marry me," Lei Zoe said and blinked, waiting for her reaction.

Yan Jane stared at Lei Zoe in a daze. "Marry you? Do you even know who I am?"

Lei Zoe laughed when she heard her, "Of course you are my future wife!"

'Did she encounter another lunatic apart from Fang Yan?' Yan Jane thought as she stared at Lei Zoe. 'What person in her right mind would ask a stranger to marry her?'

"Think about it. You have nothing to lose if you marry me. I'm good looking, good in bed. I can cook, do chores, and I am faithful.

How many girls can boldly say that they will be faithful to only one woman?"

Yan Jane lowered her head, and her eyes were empty. "You are a good person. You deserve a good wife, not the devil reincarnated."

Yan Jane said as she smiled. Lei Zoe sighed and raised her chin so she could look into her eyes.

"Okay. I'm serious, though. I'm old now, and my mom wants me to get married. And I think you are a better candidate than those spoiled girls. Also, I want to marry you so I can pamper you. I want to see you smile like that day at the club. I know that you don't remember me, but ever since I saw you that night, I promised myself to make this woman happy. I want to protect you and shield you from the rain. Also, I can see that you have been hurt before. Let me make you happy, okay?"

Jane's heart suddenly skipped a beat. No one has ever said that they will spoil her and protect her, let alone shield her from the rain. Only one person had promised her that, but he threw divorce papers at her and threw her on the streets. She has been hurt, and she really can't stand another blow. Now, she was too busy making money in order not to depend on anybody again. Even though she knew it was fake, she had an impulse to agree to this offer. She laughed at herself when she realized she was considering this woman's offer. Maybe her heart had been lonely for too long. People will seduce you with words and drop you into the pit of hell. Yan Jane learned this the hard way. She won't take that risk again.

Lei Zoe looked at Jane quietly as her eyes suddenly became empty, and then there was a firmness in her eyes.

"I'm sorry, but I can't marry you. I have to go. I have an appointment later. I will leave a number here. If you can think of another way I can compensate you, call me," Yan Jane said as she pushed Lei Zoe's hands away and got out of bed. Lei Zoe smiled mysteriously.

"This is the only compensation I want. I know you will agree soon," Yan Jane frowned when she heard her.

"You think I will agree?"

"I believe you will repay my life-saving grace. Take care."
