Jane froze when she heard Zoe. She didn't remember the last time something so simple made her laugh. She coughed to hide her awkwardness. Jane looked around and realized that they were still in the parking lot and Zoe was leaning on her car window. She could see a couple of girls taking pictures of Zoe. She didn't know why, but she was feeling annoyed. "Get in. Let me give you a ride or did you bring your car," Jane asked. Zoe grinned. "No, I didn't bring a car and I would love a ride," she said as she opened the car door and sat in the passenger's seat. Jane started the car and turned to look at Zoe. Their eyes met and she saw an affectionate look in the woman's eyes. Before she could react, Zoe kissed her lightly. Her rosy lips were covered by two thin lips. By the time she was able to react, Zoe had already moved away and was smirking at her. Jane 's face suddenly turned red and she glared at Zoe with disappointment. "How dare you kiss me without my consent," Jane said angrily. Zoe smiled in reply. "My wife, kissing you is my right." After listening to Zoe's brief explanation, Jane gritted her teeth. She felt that Zoe would kill her with her shamelessness. Jane couldn't find the right words to refute what she said. Who made her marry this woman? She threw her a look, but did not dare to answer. Jane took a deep breath and regained her indifferent face. Zoe wanted to laugh. Through the mirror, she could see her flushed face and thought that she looked cute. "Where are you going," Jane asked indifferently. "My wife, we are already married. Let's spend some time together." Zoe muttered. "Okay," Jane mumbled back. Zoe was a little surprised by her answer. She thought that she would not have agreed. Jane drove her to the parking lot of Buckram Estate, the place that she was staying at. She opened the car door and was about to get down, but then Zoe suddenly grabbed her wrist and she turned around to face her. "Is there a supermarket here?" Jane glanced at her and pointed her finger towards the direction of the supermarket. "Go left and you will see the sign there." "I didn't bring money though," Zoe said and smiled embarrassingly. Jane got the clue that she wanted her to keep her company, so she thought and then replied, "I will go with you." The two went to the supermarket together. Jane silently accompanied her without saying anything. She watched Zoe pick up different food and put it in the cart. Zoe suddenly stopped and turned to look at her. "What kind of food do you like to eat?" "I'm not picky. Anything is fine with me." Jane looked at the almost full cart. She was not the one who was going to eat the food, so she didn't care what Zoe was picking. "I think I have all the ingredients. Let's go. You like spicy food, right?" Jane froze in place for a bit, realizing that the food Zoe placed in the cart was not for herself. Zoe wanted to go to her apartment and cook for her. After thinking about it, she realized that she had no food to eat tonight, so she didn't say anything. She went straight to the cart and removed the package of shrimp. Zoe guessed that she didn't like shrimp. "Why didn't you say anything when I put the shrimp in the cart?" "I thought you were buying ingredients for yourself." Zoe was taken back by her words and she felt a little uncomfortable. They were already married, but this woman still treated her like a stranger. At this point, Zoe had forgotten that they had only met three times. When she thought about it, she felt discomfort in her heart. With a sullen face, she followed Jane to her apartment after she paid for the ingredients. Zoe made up her mind to remind Jane that she was now her wife. When they reached the apartment, Jane entered the passcode and opened the door. The moment they entered, Zoe dropped the grocery bags on the floor and pinned her against the door. Jane gasped in surprise. Their eyes met and time seemed to freeze. Zoe raised her hands and gently caressed Jane's cheeks while their eyes were locked, both of them trying to read each other's emotions. Jane didn't say anything. Zoe could see the confusion, anger, and other unclear emotions buried deep in her eyes. For Zoe, her mood was quite complicated. Jane initially agreed to Zoe's proposal because she was tired of going on those boring blind dates with arrogant people who think they can have her. She was the one who made this decision and did not want to be unfair to Zoe, so she thought that she should at least try her best to be a good wife. 'Zoe, since I chose you, I will not retreat or treat you badly. Even if I don't like you now, I will try to love you as long as you remain loyal and do not betray me. Then I will never leave you,' Jane thought in her head. Jane wanted to start again. She hoped that Zoe wouldn't disappoint her. Looking at the flicker of emotions in her eyes, Zoe brushed Jane's hair from her shoulders and moved closer to her. Jane swallowed when she felt her lean body pressed against her. Jane thought Zoe was going to kiss her, but instead, Zoe caressed her neck slowly and gently. Suddenly, Jane felt the graze of her lips against her neck. Her head began to spin as she felt butterflies in her stomach. Zoe kissed her earlobe softly and then worked her way down her neck to her collarbone before returning to look at her face. Jane felt her breath curling against her skin. For the first time in a long time, she felt her body craving a woman's touch. Her eyes were filled with lust, her lips were slightly parted, and her cheeks were a little flushed. Zoe looked at her and thought to herself that she looked really sexy right now. A gush of desire suddenly overwhelmed her. 'This woman was truly a temptress,' she thought. "My wife. Do you want me to kiss you?" Zoe's hands cupped her breasts and gave a small squeeze. She then softly brushed her fingertips on her n*****s. "Hmm," Jane moaned. She knew that she had lost all her rationality right now. That sound was all Zoe needed. She cupped her face in her hands and pulled her into a fiery and passionate kiss. ********************************************************************************************************** Jane's hand unconsciously touched her lips as she stared at her reflection in the mirror in a haze. She thought Zoe would take things further, but after kissing her for a few minutes, she pulled away from her and chuckled nastily. "Wifey, if we don't stop, I don't think I can control myself. And I don't want our first time to be on a door." Jane's face reddened when she heard her, especially when she felt her hand rubbing against her belly. She pushed her away and ran towards her room. She couldn't believe that just a kiss alone could affect her emotions like that. Taking a deep breath, she sorted out her emotions and went back downstairs. When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she didn't see Zoe in the living room. She felt a pang of sadness. She thought she would come down and find Zoe waiting for her. Jerk! Didn't she say that she would cook for her? Jane was slightly annoyed. Just as she was about to walk back up to her room, she heard a noise in the kitchen. 'Was it a thief?' Jane frowned as she thought. When she got to the kitchen, she saw Zoe skillfully chopping vegetables. Jane heaved a sigh and leaned on the door as she admired the woman. "I didn't know a cocky person like you could cook. I thought you were bluffing earlier," Jane said sarcastically. Zoe turned to look at her when she heard her. "Ouch. I never knew I was a cocky person in my wife's eyes. I guess I have to change that." Zoe smirked. Jane snorted, but there was a faint smile in her eyes. She walked over to Zoe to give her a hand. She would pass her a cup of water or get her plate if she needed it. Their hands would brush each other from time to time. At first, she was a little stiff to the touch, but then she got used to it. Looking at Zoe skillfully beating eggs, Jane couldn't help but ask, "Where did you learn how to cook? It's really rare to see a woman cook as skillfully as you these days." Zoe chuckled. "Wifey, are you praising me? My mother said that a woman should know how to survive on her own, so she taught me how to cook when I was a kid." "Your mom must be a very good mother." Zoe looked sideways. She saw her face reveal a trace of loss and pain. Zoe put the bowl down and pulled her into her arms. Jane wrapped her arms around Zoe's waist. "Mother is very good. She will soon be your mother too. I think that she will like you very much." Jane blinked her eyes, looking at Zoe, and hesitantly said, "Mother will like me?" The word mother felt foreign in her mouth. "Don't worry. Go and watch some TV. Once I'm done, I will call you," Zoe said as she ruffled her hair. Jane frowned. "I'm not a child. Don't ruffle my hair again," she said coldly. Zoe let out a sigh after she turned and walked away. This woman was sometimes really confusing and cute. Half an hour later, four dishes and one bowl of soup were being placed on the dining table. The strong smell of food lingered in the kitchen and the dining room. Sitting on the sofa in the living room, Jane's eyes were growing hot from staring at the food on the dining table. She tried to suppress her emotions. No one has cooked for her since her parents died. Lu Kerlin was a bad cook, so the servants did all the cooking once they got married. The only time she heard her mother talk about her father was when they were eating. She still remembered the last meal she had with her mom: "Jane, your father is a very good cook. When I was with him, he would prepare all the food. He loved me and always pampered me. I don't want you to hate your father or think that he doesn't want you. It was your mom who ran away and got married to another man. At the time, I did not know I was pregnant and I already had a marriage contract with someone else. When I found out I was pregnant, your father was far away. Your grandpa thought that if I wanted to protect you and your father, I had to run away." "Wifey. Wifey!" Zoe's anxious voice took her out of her stupor. "Wifey, are you okay?" Zoe asked worriedly when she saw her pale face. Jane's eyes met Zoe's eyes. Her indifferent face softened when she saw the gentle and worried look in the woman's eyes. "Yeah. I'm fine." "Okay. Let's eat." Zoe knew that she did not want to talk about what she was thinking, so she didn't probe further. Sitting at the dining table, Zoe put two spicy fish on her rice and smiled softly. "Wife, eat more, okay? From now on, I will cook for you. You look so thin. Someone will think I'm bullying my wife." Jane smiled softly and picked some vegetables for Zoe. "You should also eat more. I am also your wife. I should be the one cooking. Unfortunately, I can't cook," Jane said embarrassingly. Zoe's eyes softened. "Don't worry, Wifey. I will do all the chores in the house. I don't mind being a slave to my wife." "But I can't let you do anything. It's my responsibility. I will feel useless." "It's okay. Don't think about it. After all, you will go to work in the morning to make money for the house and you will work hard during the night. So you're not useless," Zoe said with an evil grin on her face. Jane blushed. "Rogue!" Zoe erupted into laughter when she saw Jane's face turn red. Her wife was really cute. Even though she would put up a really cold and indifferent face, Zoe knew that it was just a mask and that she was actually a very cute woman who was sometimes really childish. Jane decided to ignore her because she realized that she might get hypertension if she responded to every word that would come out of this woman's mouth.
