Varouk and I walked out into foyer behind a hunter named Clare that I had seen previously at council meetings and Joanna where Morag, Lomax and other council members had already gathered waiting. “What wrong Joanna” Morag asked as he removed his mask, this little fairy seemed to always be profusely sweating every time I see him. “One of my coven members contacted me about the flesh of the hood, it has come up as inconclusive from all our Fae testing” she said “How can this be” asked Clare “It is coming up as being linked to all Fae, from pixies to wolves and even witches. It is making no sense” Joanna explained “Can we still use it to track” Varouk interjected, “I am not sure, it is so broad, we are still working on it” she said “We need to talk in all seriousness about the Fae safety at this time. “Morag added, “We cannot keep everyone in the dark” he followed up with. Clare and other council members nodded in agreement. “We need to put the word out, that Fae are being killed and too be extra cautious. No mention about the details” Lomax added “I agree” Joanna said “So is that everyone in agreement” Morag asked, a yes echoed the foyer Clare moved to Joanna, “I’ll head back to my territory now; it is best to prepare my hunters for when they are needed.” She stated, “I’ll do the same, we have some talented trackers back home” Varouk said Joanna nodded “Yes, both of you do that. Once we are closer, we could use those skills.” “Will you leave right now” I asked Varouk as we walked back to the table, Delphine and Charlie had proceeded to move on from champagne onto tequila. “Delphine, I need to head back home, business stuff” he said leaning in putting his arm around her “What now?” She asked, he nodded in reply

Varouk turned to me “Walk me out” he said as I nodded and complied following him out the ballroom doors to the street where we removed our masks. “I am sorry about the other night” Varouk said “I get why” I remarked keeping up with his pace “She is the strongest wolf I know but she is my baby sister, and I am just protective” Varouk explained “I get it,” I said “So, you believe she is your mate” Varouk asked “I honestly do, and I will do anything to get this spell reversed” I said “Joanna is your best bet” he said staring sternly into my eyes as I nodded in agreement. Just as his car rolled up to the curb “If anything happens to her, I will kill you” he said with a smile and closed the door... I smiled as well. I knew he meant it, but it still made me chuckle. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and started to type I need that cure Joanna, I am desperate she replied I know, I will do everything I can to fix this for you. I promised her mother I would always take care of her!
