3 An Unforeseen Death ————————— I t was winter. Then again, the land around the Duchy of Brennan seemed to be in perpetual winter. A copious amount of snow covered everything, and Ewan trudged through knee-high mounds of the cold white flakes to reach the stables. Ewan didn’t mind snow or the cold that came with it, but he hated traveling in it. His plate armor already had a thin layer of frost on it, despite wearing thick furs. Two young boys who couldn’t have been older than twelve greeted Ewan when he entered the building.
