1349 Words
King Melvin held his chin upon hearing from the bishop about the possibility of one of Emperor Andreas generals' being present. The King had a serious look on his face as he thinks hard for a solution. “Call one of the army generals present here in the capital!” The king ordered at one of his servants. However, after saying those words, Anne suddenly spoke. “Hold it, father!” “What is it now, Anne? I had already done what you have asked me to do. Now I have something urgent in my hands. So, please do whatever you want but do not hinder me in my work.” “But father, would you listen just this one time again!” “Fine, but make it quick we have an urgent problem that needs an immediate solution.” Princess Anne took a deep breath before speaking to his father. But what came out of his mouth surprised everyone in the room, including her father. “Father, please send us to deal with this problem!” “I refuse!” The king replied without any hesitation. “But father...” “There are no, BUT'S Anne! You are a princess, a future ruler of this country. Your safety is a priority. Sending you to a dangerous place is something that I will not do!” Anne clenched her fist before yelling back at his father, “So it's like that father, you don't trust in your daughter's strength. Even I have proven myself time and time again that I could take care of myself!” “Anne! Do you think that a princess like you can become an adventurer without attracting some unnecessary attention?” “A princess like you is not meant to be going out of the world. Killing monsters, earning money by killing and completing errands!” The king added as he scolds his daughter. But Anne grabbed her tiara and threw it towards his father's feet. She then spoke, “I never even wanted to be a princess, who's always locked up in a golden cage—always seen as a weak damsel in distress. I want to change people's image of me." Anne then took a deep breath before continuing. “Also, dear father, a ruler, should lead by example, not by orders. So consider sending me as a showcase of the royal family's strength—a show of how powerful the future ruler Anne Armada is. Then people will tell tales of my great escapades and adventurers. Making the people of Armada proud!” The King was about to reply; however, he has nothing to say. But instead of the king answering the princess. The Bishop was the one who spoke to the princess as he claps his hand. “Bravo! Princess Anne, I have never heard of a ruler willing to take the front to fight. Leading as an example showing the strength of a ruler.” After that, the Bishop gazed at Melvin and spoke, “I agree in sending Princess Anne there, your majesty. I see no problems with her reasoning. It even makes me proud as a citizen of Armada that we have such a capable ruler.” “But Bishop...” “No need to worry, your majesty! The strongest disciple of the holy knights will be joining the princess in her escapade. Which is this girl beside me, Medina Format.” The beautiful young cleric beside the bishop kneeled and spoke to the king, “Do not worry your majesty. After hearing the princess, I Medina Format will protect the princess with my might and God's help. I will ensure the safety of such empathic and capable ruler like Princess Anne.” The King was unable to say anything but to let out a sigh. Anne suddenly had a cheerful expression after hearing the Bishop and the beautiful Cleric, named Medina. “Father, hearing Bishop and her companion, would you finally allow me.” The King raised an open palm towards Anne; she knew that it meant to silence, so she stopped her speech. After Anne quieted, the king looked at her and spoke. “Anne, you may have the backing of the church and a companion that could protect you when going somewhere dangerous. However, do you think that the two of you can survive the dangers of this world? I will not send any of the royal maids to accompany you. So what will you do now, Anne? You have not experienced anything without the help of your servants. So are you still willing to leave after hearing that?” After hearing this, Claire begged the king, “But your majesty, I can not just let...” “Silence! Do not speak when you are not the one in question, Claire!” Otis and Henry, who have witnessed this was confused about the current fight between the Princess and the king. However, Otis's focus was not on the princess and the king's argument. But who was the general in the town where the current problem is happening? Otis tried remembering who is it, then after a few seconds, he remembered. It was a general sent to scout and disrupt the kingdom of Armada. It was the start of his plan to provoke the domain of Armada. Otis realizes these questions upon thinking about the general, “Will he remember me? Is he going to kill me? How would he react if I tell him that I am Andreas, and who is the new Emperor?” However, as Otis was busy thinking, the king yelled once again. “What!?” Both Henry and Otis looked in the king's direction and saw Anne pointing at them. Then what came out of Anne's mouth surprised them, as the king looks at both of them as some pests. While Anne winks at them, this just escalated the confusion of the two. The King laughed at them mockingly and spoke, “so you will make that p*****t and that weak circus worth reptile your party. You must be joking, Anne.” ‘Is he mocking Henry and me? How extremely audacious for a human being. I would kill him without remorse if I were in my old body.’ “Your laughing at Henry, the boy who defeated the monsters that your knights can't defeat. It looks like you are also a hypocrite father.” The kind replied, “Fine, I'll give credit for that boy. However, that circus snake, now way would I see him being useful in combat. He will only be a liability for your group. I guess with the boy and the Cleric, your party is still weak even to survive a group of lower-tier stupid goblins.” Otis was enraged by the king after being reminded of how he had fallen from greatness. It also did not help that Andreas or Otis's former self hates king Melvin. The King caused Otis to explode in anger. “So you dare mock me of my appearance, king Melvin. Then I will prove to you that appearance and stereotyping might not be the only way to judge creatures straight.” “And where the hell do you think this will lead, circus snake?” Otis smiled before shouting at the king, “I demand a duel against the strongest guard you have in this room! Your majesty.” “Oh! So that is your way of proving me wrong. I guess I can forgive you after you are defeated in no time by my guards.” The King snapped his fingers, and a guard suddenly walked forward. He then kneeled before the King and asked, “What is your order, your majesty?” “Teach that circus snake a lesson. So he could learn where his proper place should be.” “As you wish, your majesty.” The guard walked in Henry's direction. Otis, on the other hand, jumped down from Henry's neck to the floor and crawled towards the knight. Upon the two meets in the middle, the knight spoke. “I do not tolerate violence against weak creatures. So surrender now, small scaly creature.” “Do you think I'm that weak? Then you wouldn't mind if I kill you as a punishment for that insult.” “Such sharp tongue, I guess I have to discipline you. As your master clearly did not teach you the correct manners for a pet!”
