Chapter Twenty-Four The PlotRachel got up from beside her bed. She didn’t know how long she had been kneeling there. Her legs were stiff and her back ached, but, for the first time in years, her mind was at peace. As for her problem with Gerald and Monique, she knew what she had to do. She went to her closet and found a plain skirt and a blue cotton blouse. In the bathroom, she washed her face but did not put on any makeup. When she was finished, she went back into the bedroom and dialed the kitchen.
