Chapter Three

James' P.o.v

I walk in and quickly scan the restaurant.I feel anxious as Tyler trails in behind me.That's when I hear it. Her laugh... It draws me right to her.Her face...I see in the sea of faces.She's sitting across from another girl and I watch as she takes a sip of her drink.She looks in my direction and smiles at me, and I don't know why but it makes me uncomfortable and I have to look away. Tyler pushes my shoulder "Are we gonna get a table or... just stand here looking like total idiots?" I realize how long we've been standing there and for a second my feet forget how to work until Tyler nudges me again.We make our way towards a table near her and I begin to fidget with the keys in my pocket.What is wrong with me.

We sit down and I order a beer. I call Tyler a p****y for ordering soda, but we both know why he is.We joke around some more before I glance over at her.I try to study her face without making it obvious that I'm staring.But it's hard not to...Up close I notice her bite down on her full pink lips as as she listens to her friend.Tyler is talking but his words sound like white noise.I can see all her birthmarks including the three small ones on her cheek and a couple of others on inner shoulder. I watch as she pulls her hair to one side as she laughs again.

I'm not even paying attention to anything Tyler is saying I can't help myself. I don't even realize the waitress standing there until Tyler snaps his finger in my face "Hey asshole...do you want another round?" I look at my empty glass and just nod.He leans in and whispers "Dude are you even listening to me?...What are you.."He looks back and scoffs and begins to laugh."Is that why you can't seem to function?" He leans in closer to me with a stupid smile slapped on his face." Which one is it? The brunette or the brunette?" He let's out a laugh and punches my arm.My eyes quickly dart to the girl she came in with I didnt even notice what she looked like.The other girl wasn't completely unfuckable. She had short dark brown hair and she was also olive skinned.She was taller and was thin.She wasn't completely flat chested but had decent tits.She had way too much makeup on and she was showing off her long legs.

"Hellooo? Earth to Jimmy?" He snaps his fingers in my face again and I slap them away."f**k dude I never thought you'd be a pussy..."He turns around facing her and her friend."Excuse me ladies my friend here ..See him, this is my friend James he seems to be hypnotized by how beautiful you both are and can't be bothered to listen to me.Would you like to join us so my friend can I don't know ...actually form a sentence."They both look at each other and giggle.I kick him from under the table and mouth the words I'm gonna f***k you up to him.

She nods to her friend and says sure.Her friend rolls her eyes and follows with their glasses in hand.She sits down next to me and I can feel myself tense up .What the fuck.I take a long sip of my beer and take a deep breath."So you've met my awkward friend James...I'm Tyler..and you ladies are?"She looks looks at her friend quickly and laughs nervously "Umm well my name is Delilah and..and this is my friend Allison." The other girl gives a small uninterested smile.

After a few minutes and more of Tyler's prying I find out she works at a used book store not far from here, her and her friend both are in college together and live off campus,her family is very small and is out west and she doesn't actually drink.She looks so good I can feel myself relaxing each time she speaks,every so often she glances up at me and smiles.Her friend looks at her phone "Lilah we should get going.. know if we wanna go to that thing later..." Tyler looks quickly at both of them.."Things? I love things...Jimmy don't you love things?"I wind up choking on my drink.She laughs as I try to clean the beee off my face.She looks at me "Yeah...well there's a party tonight if you guys wanna come? Right Allie?"I could see her friend's eyes widen in horror and her jaw clench. As Delilah smiles and nod her friend let's out a long drawn out surrrree."Umm great ...umm do you wanna take my number so I could text you the address?" I dig my phone out of my pocket and unlock it when I see half a dozen texts and photos from this slut...."You know what my phone is dying umm... why don't you take my number and just text me later tonight?"She nervously giggles and I give her my number.They leave and right before she walks out she looks back and smiles.

My eyes follow her til she's fully out of sight.I look at Tyler.."What?"He puts his hands behind his head."Just say it dude...I got game.."I shove him and tell him I'm gonna f**k him up and laugh.I see my phone light up and I roll my eyes. I can't deal with this hoe right now.But I see the message is from an unsaved number.It's her. ...Fuckk I already can't wait to see her ... I reread her text and I'm about to respond when my phone starts ringing....
