Ariel’s POV After the awkward moment in Damian’s office, I went to mine. For a while, I just sat down and stared blankly. I couldn’t tell what was going wrong. How did Damian know Ethan? And why was Ethan kneeling? I asked myself a bunch of different questions. My head hurt. I held it in my hands for some time and let out a deep breath. I checked the clock. It was closing time. I got up and locked my door. As soon as I stepped into the staff area, I heard whispers. “Didn’t you see how Damian’s son appeared today? He was looking tatad, so unkempt.” “I heard it was because of the new web designer.” “Ahhh, Mrs. Gossiper" one of the staff, Mary exclaimed. “How did you know it’s because of her?” another asked. Mary asked. “Well, like you said, I’m a gossiper. I know everything that goes on in Blackthorne Holdings. Believe it or not, I’m better at news than BBC.” The others laughed. Just then, I stepped out of the place I’d been hiding, when I overheard them gossiping. They looked super shocked and scared. I didn’t say a word. I just left. When I got outside, Damian had once again told the driver to come pick me up. I rolled my eyes at the thought of that scumbag. The driver greeted me politely, and I responded respectfully. Inside the car, I couldn’t stop thinking. "What were those girls saying?" "Was it Ethan they were referring to as Damian’s son?". "Does Damian have a son?. I thought maybe he might, but I didn’t believe it was Ethan. I know Ethan’s father. He always showed me his pictures when we were dating, so I know him well enough. Even though he died long before I even got to meet Ethan. “Ahhh, this is driving me insane,” I muttered, holding my head. The driver nervously looked at me, clearly wondering if everything was okay. He didn’t just wonder, he asked. “Madam, is everything okay? You look stressed. Should I call Mr. Dami” Before he could finish, I cut him off in a hurry. “No, no! Please don’t call him. I’m perfectly fine.” I forced a charming smile. “See?” He looked at me and I'm sure he clearly knows, I'm forcing it. But he didn't say anything. And in no time, we got home. Again, the driver came to open the door for me. I got down and was about to leave, but I turned back to him and said with a smile, “Please don’t tell your boss about today. Promise me you won’t tell him anything.” I raised my hand ready for him to make a Pinky promise with me. He just stared at my back and turned to leave. And I knew right then that the devil was behind me. I turned slowly, and there he was. Damian Blackthorne, the one who had given me headache all day. Damian’s POV: I got home and couldn’t find Ariel. I asked the butler, and he said the driver had gone to pick her from work. I checked the time. She should have been home by now. "It’s only an hour from the office. So what exactly were they doing on the road?." I asked myself suspension written in my face. I tried my best not to get angry, but I was already getting angry. I called the driver, but he wasn’t picking up. I didn’t waste any more time. I called Marcus, and he picked up at once. He spoke as if he already knew what I was about to say. “Don’t worry, Mr. Possessive. She’s on her way. She’ll be there soon. Remember, we track her?, So take a chill pill she’ll be with you in no time.” I went to my study and stood by the window, smoking. I waited for her to come and give me an explanation as to why it took so long. Soon, I heard the car engine roar. The car parked, the driver got out to open the door, and she stepped down. She started walking inside, then suddenly turned back. She was smiling at my driver and whispering something to him. "What the heck." Now that was it. I threw my cigar butt and stormed out. The moment the driver saw me, he froze, his face pale with horror. Ariel stayed frozen too, like a child caught doing something forbidden. Slowly, she turned around but didn’t dare to face me. I walked to her with my hands in my pockets. She didn’t move back like before. This time she just stared at the ground, picking at her fingers. I stopped just inches from her and lifted her chin with my fingers. She was hiding her face from me, so I forced it up. But she still wouldn’t look into my eyes. That hit me hard. I knew why she was acting stubborn, but I couldn’t believe she could smile at a driver yet refuse to even look at me. “Look at me,” I told her. She refused. “You want to act stubborn, right?” Without thinking twice, I lifted her like she weighed nothing. And she truly didn’t, she felt like a piece of paper in my hands. She kicked and threw her tiny fists at my back, but it didn’t affect me. I carried her inside. Once inside, she kicked me as soon as I set her down. She glared at me angrily, And kicked me again. I saw the hurt in her eyes. And she spoke trying to hold back the tears that threatened to fall. “Why are you holding me, huh?” she said angrily, hitting me. “You throw me out like I’m nothing at work, and now you care about who talks to me?” She wanted to hit me again, but I caught her hand carefully, making sure not to hurt her. And I pinned her to the wall. She was still trying to push me off, she pushed like those tiny hands of her could do anything. “Enough Ariel,” I said in a loud but calm voice. She stopped fighting but still wouldn’t look at me. I breathed out in frustration. My eyes glowed as I used my Alpha tone. “Ariel Morgan, look at me.” But instead, she grew angrier. “Don’t you dare think you can command me!” I froze. This was the second time Ariel had blocked my connection. The first was after our first night—and now, even my Alpha tone didn’t work. But I could tell she was a human and she must be clueless about this. So what exactly is going on. I stared at her in disbelief, and she looked back at me as if saying, Why are you looking at me like that? As I was lost in thought, she tried to slip away. Not happening. If I couldn’t Alpha-turn her, I’d use my charm to seduce her. I caught her just as she reached the door. This time, I wasn’t bargaining. I lifted her, and she held onto my neck in reflex, still avoiding my eyes. I carried her to the bed and set her down. Slowly, I climbed over her. She didn’t fight this time. I knew she couldn’t resist my eyes. I stared straight into them, lifting her chin to force her gaze. And she looked. For a moment, I just stared, because I knew if I did not restrain myself, I’d devour her raw. And she wouldn’t survive that. I told my wolf to calm down. We could can't afford to scare her. But someone else was more eager. She grabbed my shirt with a strength I hadn't known she could posses and pulled me closer. “Don’t waste my time Damian. f**k me now.” she said, hunger and lack of patience written all over her face. I smiled. “Your wish is my command, my feisty little thing.” She kissed me hungrily. The hunger I felt was nothing compared to hers. She kissed me like a starving lion. And I lost all restraint. I lifted her up and ripped off her top, revealing her round, white breasts. They called to me. I couldn’t wait. I buried my mouth in them. She threw her head back and moaned in pleasure. “Ahhh, f**k, Damian. I’m wet,” she whispered, hunger written all over her face. But I wasn’t done teasing. I kissed down her belly and bit her navel. She moaned louder. “Damian, just f**k me already. Enough with the teasing.” Without my approval, She raised my shirt and undid my belt, moving with a strength I didn’t expect. I stopped her just as she was about to free my weapon. “You don’t get to dominate me, Ariel.” She smirked. “Then f**k me, zaddy.” That name did something to me. Without wasting more time, I drove into her, unleashing the beast in me. She bit down on her lips, but I didn’t let her hide her moans. I kissed her mouth, parting her lips with my tongue. She was breathing heavily, clutching me tighter as I drove deep inside her. Her moans filled the room and my world. And I knew, deep down, she would be the end of me.
