First Day Of Class

1040 Words
Lana's POV Business Studies was going to be hard, not only because I hate it, but the man from the coffee shop was standing in front of the class. I take in a deep breath, I need to make my father proud and it cannot be by staring at a handsome man. It is totally wrong to be attracted to a professor. "I am Professor Moses and this semester will be hard work in Business. If you love it, then this will work out for you, but if you hate it, then now is the time to leave and change courses." he said, scanning the class. I am so tempted to get up and walk out of here. But my father would be angry at me for doing it, so I remained seated. I know that my grades will not be good, no matter how much I try. Cynthia turns around as some students left. "I don't know how to sit here and keep my eyes off of him. He is good," she says. "Nothing will happen if that is what you think. He is a professor and it stays that way." I said to her softly. "You are missing out." she said. "We will begin by underlining sentences from the textbook." He says, and Cynthia turns around to focus on her book, but he avoids looking my way. That is a good thing. I don't need eyes on me. "Strategies..." I read through the passage to find Strategies, but this is already making me feel annoyed. I huffed out a breath. Finally, I found it. Grabbing a pen on my desk, I wait for him to begin. "A strategy is a plan of action to achieve a goal and it serves as an enterprise’s overall plan of development. It also indicates direction and guides the allocation of resources in a business enterprise. A business enterprise needs to develop strategies in response to challenges and changes in the business environment. It cannot develop a strategy to react to challenges in the business environment, unless the business knows which challenges can be encountered in each of the three business environments. A business can use SWOT analysis to analyse the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities in each of it." He says as we underline it. A folded note is placed on my desk, stopping me from underlining any further. I open it up. He looks stuck up ever since he laid eyes on you. He is avoiding you, he is trying too hard. I rolled my eyes and I begin to write a reply. If you want him, then you can have him. I tapped Cynthia on her back and she took the note from me. I am lost as to where we are in the textbook. I sigh. She places the note again on my desk and I open it. He doesn't want me. It is you that he wants. I shake my head at her comment. So I wrote something that might get her to back off. She coughs, but I continue to write. He is a clumsy, stuck-up professor. I wouldn't want a man like that. The note is taken from me and I look up to see that he is standing beside me and he reads the note. All eyes are in our direction, I felt all the blood drain from my face and I felt heated as he stood so close to me, but more because of the embarrassment of the note. "This isn't high school. No notes are to be passed around in my class. Act your age. As for this note, I'm sure that you all want to hear what was being said." he says, and I hope that he won't be doing what I think he will. He starts to walk down the steps. "Professor Moses is a clumsy, stuck-up Professor." he read. I narrowed my eyes at him as he came to a stop in front of the class. He looks up at me from the note. He didn't read the other parts of it out loud, which I'm happy about. But to put us in this position was unnecessary. "This will be your last warning to both of you." he says as he crumbles the note up and throws it into the trashcan. Last warning for what? He has definitely changed since he saw me. "Gosh, that man," Cynthia mutters only for me to hear. The rest of the lesson, I was holding in my anger at him. I am embarrassed too. I couldn't even get the rest of the lesson in my brain because it was useless. I know that I will fail. **** Class was dismissed and we walked down the hall. "To be honest, I don't know what made him change. It must be that you are his student, but to act in this way is enough to make a person hate him" Cynthia says. " I'm still attracted to him despite what happened in class." I say. "Who isn't attracted to him? I can only advise you to focus on your work. That is what I'm doing from now on." she says. I see him walk as if on a mission towards an office. "Wait here for me." I say and I hurry to get to him. "Hey, what was that all about?" I asked as he stopped in front of the office. His brows are furrowed as he looks at me with his ocean blue eyes darkening and his jaw clenching. "Notes are not allowed in my class. That is what will happen. If you want to call me a clumsy, stuck-up professor, then feel free to leave." he says. "What on earth have I done?" I asked with so much anger. "You have done enough." he says, and then he walks inside of the office. I have done enough? I didn't know that he would be so easily offended by me calling him what I did. I take a deep breath and I walked towards Cynthia as she typed away on her phone again. I would rather be in his good books and pass this course than be in anyone's bad books and get bad grades.
