What the hell just happened?
One moment, I was seated at the opulent dining table, poised to enjoy a meal that promised to satisfy the gnawing hunger deep in my stomach. The next, I was drenched in cold wine, its dark red stain spreading across the front of my dress like an uninvited guest demanding attention.
