Chapter Five: Elder Marcus

1019 Words
I walked silently in the forest, my leg noisily stepping on the dried unruffled leaves on the ground. "Someone is trailing us" Shira whispered. I suddenly stopped. This was a warning, my wolf was always right but I felt the presence. It was someone I knew, I had seen but I couldn't detect the identity. The presence made me feel uneasy. It was someone who never liked me- but I couldn't make out who it was. Fear gripped me as I stood stiff still thinking of who it may be. "Tiana" a voice aired. My heart skipped a little. I had to do something. "Show your self" I screamed with boldness but deep inside I knew I was afraid. "You have come a long way" it echoed again. I remained quiet, palms sweating. "I mean no harm" He finally appeared, my eyes rolled as I saw him. It was elder Marcus, the personal adviser to Alphaeous. He was behind my rejection- hating me with no reason. He made sure I never partook in any of the pack's meeting. My eyebrows furrowed as my eyes contacted his. "Elder Mar...cus" I stammered. He didn't reply. Not answering me sounded unusual- he always made sure he injured my heart with his offensive words- calling me weak. "I am sorry" he finally broke the silence. In a lifetime, his tone was soft and calm talking to me. It amazed me, he was sorry? I turned my back at him as tears welled up my eyes but they didn't flow. I turned at him again, he could see I wanted to cry. He inched closer as his gaze focused on me. "I thought you were just an omega, a weak one" "But I was proved wrong when I got to know that you are the chosen omega of this moon circle" I only stared at him and shook my head slowly. "That was just the past" "Why are you here" I questioned him. "He wants you back" "That's would be my last thought" "Coming back to the guy who rejected me in the presence of the whole pack" "I would rather become an omega without a mate" He just smiled as he gazed downwards. "You guys are fated" he voiced. "And so..? I asked him raising a brow. "He is ready to beg" "Still in the presence of the pack" I chuckled at his statement which sounded weird. "After the pains I felt" "The burn of rejection" "I would be a fool going back to him" "He still loves you" "Love you say" I laughed uncontrollably. "He could have considered that before rejecting me" "You are sounding proud" "I love it that way" "Let this discussion just slide" "If you say so, but my main reason here is" "You could have said that earlier instead of beating around the bush" "Your pack" he said and paused. "What happened to them" I asked in curiosity as my eyes widened. "They were attacked" he finished his statement. "When, how, who, why? I threw all these questions at him. "They were searching for you" "They were sent by the Silver Gecko" "Anyone hurt' I asked him. "Yes, badly injured" "No rescue" "The other pack didn't get to know before the incident" "They are coming for you in the forest now" "Now"? "Yes, they are close very close" "You are already close to the end of the Vieen forest" "Make sure you keep moving" "I will" ✓✓✓ ALPHAEOUS Alphaeous paced to and fro as his gaze focused on Elder Marcus. "How did it go" Alphaeous asked elder Marcus. "She didn't agree" "She is right" he responded in a soft tone. "I made her go through the pains of rejection" "It's her choice" elder Marcus retorted "But we are fated" "She is my destined mate" "I am befuddled right now" "A faint heart never won a fair lady" "Just keep pleading" "She might give you a second chance" Alphaeous breathed a sigh and buried his head. "Now I am chasing the mate I once rejected" "I never knew she was chosen by the moon goddess" "Did you really reject her because of her rank" "Yes! But I don't even know why I did" "I wasn't expecting her" "Then, now you chasing her back" "I really love her though" "And I think she loves me too" "If you think so, keep trying" "She could change her mind" TIANA The rain fell on the land that night- the air was cold. I walked gently as shivered. My clothes were drenched with the rain. "Where do we go from now" My wolf asked. "I am befuddled Shira" "Where do I get a shelter" "I think I'm feeling a gathering of people" Shira aired. I kept walking till a sound from afar attracted me, it wasn't a voice- it was voices. The thrill of discovery drove me forward and the more I walked, the more the sound got closer. In a trice, I sighted a building, there the sound was coming from. The voices all seemed masculine- they weren't talking, they were all singing. I sprinted to the building and it was quite old, very old. I peeped through it and it was occupied with arrays of armies- marching and singing. I let out a gasp and remained silent. "Go in" My wolf suggested. I wouldn't dare that, I was really afraid. What if I got killed or something. I grabbed my magical sword from my waist and walked towards the door. I pushed gently and it creak open. Instantly, they saw me. My heart shifted- my kneels buckled. There was a moment of silence. One of the soldiers walked up to me muttering some words, his voice unclear. For a moment, I figured out they weren't speaking english. "Um am so sorry" "I am Tiana, I mean no harm" "Just need a warm place, it's cold outside" They all began to murmur. Another came out and clapped his hands. He said some words to them and there was a total silence. "Hey, we speak Spanish here" "What do you want"?
