After a tense breakfast during which we hardly spoke to each other, Killian leaves for the supermarket, saying he has to buy groceries. I suspect it is his excuse to get out of the house because the last time I checked there is food in the cupboards and in the fridge. “What the hell was that about?” Maya says as soon as Killian is out of the kitchen and out of earshot. “Like, I’ve never felt so much tension before.” Em, as she clears the table, shrugs and says, “I don’t know, but I’m not complaining though.” She waggles her eyebrows suggestively.
