When I was young, when Dad was at the office and Mom was cleaning at the hospital, Killian used to leave me alone to play with my dolls in the backyard, because he didn’t want to babysit me, while he and his friends would blast music in the house and talk about girls because they were “old” and I was too young to hang out with them. Our backyard, because our house was on the outskirts of town, overlooked the woods. The wired fence acted as a barrier that kept the animals out. However, there was a growing hole in the fence. Mom and Dad were not aware of this because they were hardly at home and neither was Killian because he was too self-absorbed to be aware of anything else other than himself.
