Elowen POV WHEN STRYKER CAME HOME yesterday with a goddamn bullet wound, I lost my mind. Archer and Dominic laid him out on the bed, and the pack doctor came in to look him over. I thought for sure he was going to die. There was so much blood, and Stryker was barely conscious. I sat up in bed next to him all night last night, watching his chest rise and fall and counting each breath. Around three in the morning, his breaths grew stronger, deeper, and steadier. I took scrupulous notes and peppered the doctor with questions before he left last night, so I knew the stronger breaths were a sign that the worst was over. Still, I can’t stand to be away from him.
