Archer POV
“Hey, Archer. I’ve got to go.”
“I know. Be safe and call me soon. We’ll grab drinks when you’re back here.”
“Sounds good. I’ll talk to you soon.”
We end the call and I pick up my now cold coffee, gulping it down.
I work for an hour before I’m interrupted again. This time it’s Dominic and Stryker here for lunch.
“Hey, I didn’t know we were meeting today,” I say as I start to clear a space on my desk for them.
“Yeah, we would have made an appointment with your assistant, but…” Dominic shrugs as he tosses me a bag from the deli down the block.
“Thanks,” I mumble.
It figures that they’re not happy that I rejected my mate. She is Lyra and Elowen’s best friend, and her being upset must have upset them.
“Why the hell did you reject Everly?” Stryker asks as he takes a seat.
