Chapter 2:Snagging a milli

Ava resisted the urge to roll her eyes. “I’m here to win a million-dollar honey pot,” she replied, her tone laced with venom. “And if you must know, I don’t need a sugar daddy. I can take care of myself.” Christopher raised an eyebrow, his gaze sweeping over her with an open appraisal. “Is that so? Well, good luck with that. You’re going to need it.” With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Ava seething with anger. She hated him with every fiber of her being. Pushing aside her feelings, Ava focused on the task at hand. She made her way to the bar and ordered a drink. She needed to find a billionaire who would be willing to bet on her. As she sipped her drink, Ava scanned the room once more, her eyes searching for her next target. And then she saw him. A tall, handsome man with piercing blue eyes and a confident smile. He was surrounded by a group of admirers, but Ava could tell that he was different from the rest. Without hesitation, Ava made her way over to him, her heart pounding with excitement. She introduced herself with a charming smile, and to her delight, he seemed genuinely interested in getting to know her. They talked for hours, laughing and flirting as they shared stories of their lives. Ava found herself drawn to him in a way she hadn’t expected, and before she knew it, she was falling for him, hard. But just as things were starting to heat up between them, Ava’s past came crashing back to haunt her. Christopher appeared out of nowhere, his eyes burning with intensity as he glared at Ava and her new suitor. “What’s this, Ava? Found yourself a new plaything, have you?” he sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. Ava felt her blood run cold as she realized the gravity of the situation. Christopher had always been possessive of her, even when they were children. And now, it seemed that he was determined to ruin any chance she had at happiness. But Ava refused to back down. She stood her ground, her chin held high as she faced off against Christopher. “I don’t belong to you, Christopher,” she said, her voice steady despite the fear coursing through her veins. “I never have, and I never will. So why don’t you do us all a favor and stay out of my life?” Christopher’s eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in anger. But before he could respond, Ava’s new suitor stepped in, placing a protective arm around her shoulders. “Is there a problem here?” he asked, his voice calm but firm. Christopher glared at him, his fists clenched at his sides, then he unclenched it and grabbed Ava to drag her away. Ava’s heart pounded in her chest as Christopher dragged her away from the crowd and into a secluded room. Her mind filled with fear, unsure of what Christopher had in store for her. She tried to pull away from him, but his grip on her arm was like iron. “Let go of me, Christopher,” she demanded, her voice trembling with anger and fear. But Christopher only tightened his grip, his eyes burning with intensity as he stared down at her. “You’re not going anywhere, Ava,” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “Not until we’ve had a little chat.” Ava’s heart sank as she realized the gravity of the situation. She was alone with Christopher, with no one around to help her. She knew she had to tread carefully if she wanted to make it out of this situation unscathed. “What do you want from me, Christopher?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. Christopher’s lips curled into a sinister smile as he stepped closer to her, his breath hot against her skin. “I want you, Ava,” he said, his voice dripping with desire. “I’ve always wanted you. And now that you’re here, in my arms, I’m not going to let you go.” Ava’s stomach churned with disgust as she realized what Christopher was implying. He wanted her to sleep with him, to give herself to him willingly. And in return, he would give her the million dollars she so desperately needed. But Ava refused to be bought and sold like a piece of property. She squared her shoulders and met Christopher’s gaze head-on, her eyes blazing. “I’m not going to sleep with you, Christopher,” she said. “I don’t care how much money you offer me. I have more self-respect than that.” Christopher’s smile faltered for a moment, his eyes narrowing in frustration. But then, to Ava’s surprise, he let out a low chuckle and took a step back, his hands raised in mock surrender. “Well, well, well. It seems I’ve underestimated you, Ava,” he said, amused. “But let me make you a deal. I’ll give you the million dollars for free. No strings attached. All you have to do is sign this contract accepting it.” Ava’s eyes widened in disbelief. Was Christopher offering her the money without expecting anything in return? It seemed too good to be true. “And what’s the catch?” she asked, her voice cautious. Christopher’s smile widened as he held out the contract for her to sign. “No catch, Ava. Just a simple agreement between two adults. You get the money, and I get the satisfaction of knowing that I helped you out of a tight spot.” Ava hesitated for a moment, her mind whirling with conflicting emotions. On one hand, she desperately needed the money to save herself from financial ruin. But on the other hand, she didn’t trust Christopher as far as she could throw him. In the end, though, her need outweighed her distrust. With a resigned sigh, she reached out and took the pen from Christopher’s hand, her fingers trembling as she signed her name on the dotted line. “There,” she said her voice barely above a whisper. “It’s done.” Christopher’s smile widened as he took the contract from her and tucked it into his pocket. “Congratulations, Ava,” he said, his voice filled with satisfaction. “You’re now a million dollars richer.” But before Ava could respond, Christopher’s expression darkened, his eyes flashing with something that looked suspiciously like desire. “Of course, there’s still the matter of our little arrangement,” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “You did promise to sleep with me, after all.” Ava’s heart sank as she realized what Christopher was implying. She had thought she had outsmarted him, but it seemed that he had been one step ahead of her all along. But even as fear coursed through her veins, Ava refused to give in to Christopher’s demands. She squared her shoulders and met his gaze head-on, her eyes blazing with defiance. “I’m not going to sleep with you, Christopher,” she said, her voice steady. “I don’t care how much money you offer me. I have more self-respect than that.” She turned on her heel and marched out of the room, leaving Christopher standing there alone, his fists clenched in anger. Christopher’s expression darkened, his eyes narrowing in frustration. “You’ll regret this, Ava,” he said, his voice low and dangerous. “You’ll regret crossing me.”
