Lyssa My breath hitched at the admission. My heart pounded so hard I am sure he could hear it. I was sure I heard him say he loved me the other night, but this, this was different. It wasn't just him saying he loved me. It was a full-on admission. This was him putting his whole heart on the line, leaving no room for confusion about his feelings. And I wanted to tell him I loved him, too, because I did. I knew I did. But I was scared. I was scared of allowing another man to have such power over my heart. Leaning forward, he rested his forehead against mine. A hand moving from around my waist, his thumb pressing a tear from my cheek, I didn't know had even built up in my eye, let alone run down my face. "You don't have to say it back." I shook my head. "It's not that. I am scared."
