Lyssa Both Ray and his father sat straight in their chairs. Ray, with a look of complete horror on his face. "You're lying. Dad, she is lying, right?" His dad shook his head. "You wouldn't." "I would and I have. I have allowed you to misuse the money your father and I worked so hard to ensure you and your son over there would want for nothing. Your father backed your business venture with our money. You have continued to take advantage of his kindness, allowing your business to go belly up, yet you continue to spend money as if you have an endless source. Well, it stops now. As you call me, this senile old woman is done watching her money being spent carelessly. Instead, I have moved all the money from both trust funds into one and have changed the beneficiary to one person." As she said the last part, the door in the back of the room opened, and a man in a suit walked in, and quietly he walked around the table and placed some papers on the table directly in front of me. He then pulled a pin from a pocket on the inside of his suit jacket and placed it on the table next to the papers in front of me. He then took a step back and stayed there. Stunned, I looked between Bonnie, Emilia, Goose, and the papers. There was no way this was real. This had to be a dream, and I would wake up any second now. Or I was sleepwalking or something, and I would get hit by a car any second now. Emilia shared the same look as I did on her face as she looked around the room. Ray, his father, and Brooklyn all got very loud as they started talking and yelling at the same time. Ray and his father were both yelling about how she couldn't do this, and it wasn't legal, and she had no right to do so. Brooklyn joined in the two men's argument every other sentence, while also trying to convince the woman that she was, in fact, pregnant and had come here for her sister's help. All the while, Bonnie continued to explain how the trust was now in my name; all I had to do was sign. There, of course, were some stipulations she had put on the trust. One thing I had to finish was school. The trust would not only cover all my school needs, so I wouldn't have to rely on loans, but I could also choose not to work and still have a monthly stipend transferred into my bank account to cover all bills, along with having a few hundred left over for things I needed or wanted. And then, when I finished school and had my degree and a job to speak of, the remainder of the money in the trust would be fully transferred to me to do as I wished with it. If I didn't finish and obtain my degree within ten years, I would lose access to the money altogether. On the other hand, if I finished school and did all I could to ensure my life was well established, the full amount of money in the trust would then become mine. While everything happened all at once, Goose was the only one who moved and didn't say a word. His eyes moved over the papers quickly as he read through the small stack. He also had a phone in his hand, which I didn't see at first. Not until he pulled it away from his ear, tucking it back into his pocket. Leaning over to me, he spoke so only I could hear him. "Don't sign anything yet. My dad, Rooster, and a lawyer the club keeps on hand are on their way." Nodding, I sat and enjoyed the chaos that was still going on around me. Bonnie was no longer talking to me as she explained what was in the stack of papers she wanted me to sign. Instead, she had moved on to arguing with Ray and his father, while my sister continued to try to convince anyone that would listen that she wasn't lying. Fifteen minutes later, Goose stood up from the table, walking over to the door we had walked in earlier, where his father, an older MC member I hadn't met before, along with an attractive woman in a dress suit, stood all listening to what Goose was telling them. I assumed that he was keeping them informed about everything. After a moment, the woman in the dress suit walked around Goose and over to the table, picking up the stack of papers. All eyes in the room were now on the woman as she read through the documents. When she was done reading through the papers, she took Goose's seat next to me. Sitting sideways in the chair, she angled her body so that her back was to the table and she was facing me. Placing the papers back onto the table, she held her hand out to me. "My name is Evelyn Jones. I am with Jones and Miller. The MC keeps my partner and me on retainer so that if ever they need legal advice." I shook her hand. "Lyssa." Evelyn nodded once, letting go of my hand. "Nice to meet you. Now, Goose called and had me come down to review these papers and ensure that what you were being told is true. I see nothing wrong with these. However, before you sign, I want you to understand that if you fail to meet the timeline requirements to complete your education, you will forfeit the money. If you do meet the requirements, you will then be gifted the full amount of the trust, which will include the responsibility of the taxes that go along with that much money." "And if I decide not to sign?" She shrugged. "Then we all get up and walk out of here and go about our day." Turning, I looked back to where Goose still stood with the other two guys, his back still turned toward me as he continued to talk to them. So I turned and looked at Emilia, who shrugged her shoulders at me. I didn't know what to do. On one hand, it would be really nice to screw Ray over like this. But on the other hand, I didn't want to deal with him afterward. There was no way he would just let this go.
